Just to damned wet and nasty out. Humidity is at Scuba gear levels. Hard to breath when you feel the air condense in your throat, trying to drown you. Did first few hours in shop welding. Retreated home as soon as I could kill power and close gates.
Plugging away at the revision, which at this point is all typo hunting. Found one that managed to slip by the editing program even. Looks like mama-kat had a keyboard moment and added some letters to a word. And yet, didn’t trip the highlighter. Dunno,, but its fixed now. Most of my issues were spacing in puncuation, and couple doubled ‘the’ that for some reason, we read right on through. Just little shit. (for the record: the PDF is 496 pages and 766Kb file size. It takes some time to weed through. )
Seems a might bit quiet out there, despite the fact we are in war footing on the national level. Me thinks there are some things in the works to aleviate that situation and attempt to save face at the same time. Dunno, just a vibe humming in the background that could explain the palpable silence from on high.
Watching a different ‘trend’ arise as well. The retrograde civilian front. Seeing more and more people seeking old stuff in vehicles. Seeing more and more guys like meself turning a wrench for profit. (yeah, I’m probably late to the game, thats alright, I am not limited to just wrenching.)
And I saw a little bid by some young’un and thought to share it withy’uns
People are getting sick of the hype. The invasiveness of literally everything. Cars that can shut us out if some program thinks our sobriety is in question, without testing a damned thing: based on some algorthm programmed in. Yeah, but NO, no thank you. I don’t drive intoxicated, but there are times in the AM where I ain’t quite awake and in a rush to get to a job,. Being told by my car, that I wasn’t allowed to do my job? That would just make my day so much brighter and fuzzier,,,
Yup,,, Old skool is gonna make a comeback as “Cool”, you betcha. but not just because its cool, but because we were free then (or so much more free than this current mess.) Freedom was promised to us, and the young’uns are starting to say, “Hey, where is it?” and go make some of their own. THAT is where things NEED to go. You aren’t given SHIT, you must earn it. We gave away so much to the siren song of Easier living tech, and “its for safety reasons” “those that would sacrifice liberty for safety, deserve neither.”
Maybe these young’uns looking at the old skool rides will help turn this current timeline around into something. Somethihng better? Or some melting pot of Old/New without the open air prison system?
