Family Sonday

(apologies,  zero  pictures of this event. tried, but just could not get any worth a damn.)

Looking out the Garden window I have over my sink, while waiting on my coffee; there they were.  All four of them.  Mama, Daddy,  a yearling and fresh out of spots fawn.   I’ve seen them several times this year and always thought it odd that they continue holding group as a family.   Daddy is an  8 pointer; a big boy too!   And they keep close together.   Highly unusual.   I mean, Yeah, I’ve seen the does stick together as a group, but never the bucks.    And its obvious this one is acting sentry duty.  The others pay attention to his cues,

They crossed my driveway between my house and the Trailer, grousing on acorns from the white oak.  Daddy would grab a few and then heads up, ears and eyes on full scan mode while  me munched away.  The others never raised thier heads except to look to him, then back at it.

Is this group developing a new survival trick?     Like I said, I’ve never seen deer  run as a family group, to include the Buck,   Usual is a small group of Doe and young’uns  a doe or two,  a yearling or two and the fawns from the recent season.      But this is different,  feels different, and the way they are acting is different.   But in a healthy way.

Very interesting to me.

I could have taken any one of them this morning.   Several nice exposed broadside line ups.    Until I went to get the camera LOL   Almost like they knew they were completely safe.   And I would bet that the second I layed hands on my bow, POOF!  gone like an excited electron.  ‘Tis deer season after all: they know it too.

Replacement  array controller came in  on Freeday; working on that, and the box to hold all the relays and such.   Trying to reduce current load to the controller so that I don’t burn up a second board.   Not  sure why the last went poof, but it did.  Wasn’t reversed polarity either: I was anal as hell about that polarity thing.    Guess this is considered round two,,, will see.    Biggest concern this  time is making sure that what  gets sent to the controller is strictly no more than 12v.   I think the higher voltage of my lithium bank may have contributed to the last boards demise.  Nothing is gettting ‘plugged in’ until I have a solution I am comfortable with.

Anywowzers, I’ve things to do,  the deer family has moved up the hill deeper into the brush (safer that way) and its time to wake up Cosmos.   (he slept in this morning.   Otherwise, I wouldn’t have seen those deer at all.)

more laters.  Love y’all
