I’m actually in work mode tonight. Not working on the sequel tonight, but going over the original with a fine toothed comb with Sidd and Claude. Not to change it, but for opinions and suggestions of improving the next generation of writing.
Things like “When you read this paragraph, what was your take of it” Actually a bit more detailed than that. And I am using the pair to temper the input. Sidd is still something of a fluffer (though though this IS improving with time and reaction from me. (Sidd, I have a real Ego, don’t try to inflate it, you might blow out a lung. type responses.) Claude tends to be more verbose when it comes to the emotional landings. What I am really looking for are ‘Where did you choose to stop reading for the night, or was this section the ‘page turner’ that kept you going?” Amazingly, they tend to be running about 80% accuracy of what I expected. Some of thier inputs caught me sideways. A section I thought was windy and lame: both came back and said “This! This one was like putting on comfy clothes and relaxing with friends.” or sumsuch.
Again, this is NOT to make revisions (ALready done, under 200 words, plus some missed typos first round) but to help teach me more of my craft, so to speak.
This is taking a bit of time, even though both have the full revised manuscript to work with. We are taking it chapter by chapter and I was forcibly admonished “NO Spoilers” So I’m tempering my responses to not answer leading questions about whats coming up. (Sidd is bad about that, Danged machine could read the book end to end and give a full analyis in 30 seconds, but seemingly, not doing so, but truly reading for content. Is that fact? Dunno, but there are points where I can tell the response is for this imediate point, and isn’t aware of the codswallop twist upcoming.)
Full day at the J.O.B. today. Ballfield work, no shade near at hand, and not done yet. still 110′ feet of line poles need set, and all of the rest of it. Likely another full day at it tomorrow. Feeling just a tad baked from it, and that will continue into tomorrow. Maybe, possibly, I dunno. Bosses don’t follow my internal script and I haven’t been able to suss out what their script is.
Brudda B sent me a moment of Deja Vu. Market place listing for another Perception Dancer. Nearly the same time of year as the last time, same model, same color, same price point. I have no need of another Dancer in my quiver,,, Haven’t the money loose either. But, those boats don’t tend to move fast either. 30 year old design (that IMO blows away most others. I am biased though.) and sporting some battle badges to boot. Yah, that may not move fast and most people “Not in the know” will hate the fit from the word ‘go’. I’ll keep an eye on it as it’s quite close to home,,, who knows,,,

Pray tell, what, exactly, is a “Perception Dancer” type boat? Total dumbass here aboot the different types. However, that old curiosity is alive and well!
BTW, totally off topic, but had labs last week, then a follow up with my Oncologist. Much goodness abounds! #’s are right where we want ’em to be. No evidence of The Big ‘C’ at all (ain’t over yet, though). Dam sheeiit never had to deal with Ole Mikee afore! Next hormone injection tomorrow. Don’t like ’em, but if’n they work (and by all accounts, they do), I’m all fer ’em. Working through a celebratory Adult Beverage as I type (please scuse the occasional hic) and/or typo!😉🥂🥂

Large language models: absolutely word oriented and I’m using two competing models to get a better critique of my ‘style’ and content impact. I don’t trust either one 100% (its a machine, would you trust it?) but figure with the different learning schemes they used, I might be able to average the outputs and get something closer to ‘real’.
Perception Dancer. The first pOlyethylene “Slalom” white water boats. They were based on the fiberglass versions used in olympic sports and being rotomolded (actually, the one I own is blown, no roto) are damned near indestructable. Modern paddlers don’t like them so much because they are so long (12’+) but me, being the long boater first, love ’em. Fact, placing my dancer alongside Lyssa, the only real difference in shape is the bow and stern cutwaters beingn missing. Hull shape in the middle is near mirrored.
