Thats about as good a description of my Mental stance right now.

VROOM!!!! Lots of blue smoke that smelled of fuel.
She was flooded. NOT a full blown head gasket issue.
How she flooded, dunno, but she was and she’s sitting up there idling like she hadn’t had an issue at all.
Weekend blowed up by a simple flooded injin,,, Color me purple headed and blue bellied, stick some feathers in my hair and put a tom-tom in my hands. I feel a little humbled right now, near paleo in mindset.
Maybe there was some water in the fuel at some point (it smelled off, not like raw fuel flooding) and that caused my issues. The way its been raining, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised by that. (water will find a way, believe me. Sealed hatches on a kayak will have wter sitting in them after a week of rain. Ask me how I know.) But she is running, and I intend on keeping her that way for a wee bit longer, before I do the full blown “tear out old engine, rebuild front end, replace engine”.
and yes, I did smell coolant, but not from the exhaust. and its not in the oil pan. That could have been a waft from Cousins place as his ride IS in pieces. I’m going on what I can see and smell now and no trace of that odor today. (and the Rad is full.)

Gotta love a vehicle with spirit and character. sigh,,,, And I do love that truck. as much as she has put me through, she is still here, still kickin’, and still has a future. Preferably one where she is a pleasure ride, not dedicated work truck. She deserves that after the last 4 years dealing with me.
AND,,, I’m back. Took her to town for a spin, check her over. No changes. Still missing on #3 that smooths out above 1500. No smoke, no hot, good Oil pressure, Same old same old. Guess she just really didn’t want to drive to the lake yesterday,,,, Spirit, character and ATTITUDE,,,, LOL
Its back to the grindstones tomorrow. Known gate to build. Known (unknown timeframe) flatbed that needs fitted to truckframe. And the unknown unknowns of what the other crew leads have up their sleeves.

and Keep the Buff a-runnin’!! I wants a kayak call this coming weekend. I have my old roadcase, Pelican style that is holding all the podcast gear (sans Macbook) for remote recording. I think this’un will be interesting getting out of the house. (IE, no kitteh distractions)
