Ambivalence

To bad its not marketable; I has lots n lots lately.

Reading through the blogs, its not marketable since seems every blog right of centrist is showing signs of it, even in the more upbeat ones.

Hard to make decisions when it feels like you’re standing in quicksand.  The only decision that makes any sense is to get out of the quicksand.

Kinda hard to figure that one out when “where” has so little going for it, or looks just as bad as the now.  That leaves you with,’fix where you are’, and that doesn’t seem possible either, at least not with current trends…

Dunno.  I’m trying to see through the fog of ambivalence for anything that may be producing light, even if only a spark of it.  And with the winter on us, my mood is dark, and that isn’t helping.

So I cast Boo-lits.  Had about 2 pounds worth of old ones that were looking shagged.

Shiny!!!

80 200gn boo-lits, semi-wadcutter, still have half a pot of lead left to do, but figure it can wait for another day. Those, loaded in my Remington 1858 with 30gn of 777 run just above 1000fps. (Cap type makes a difference. Remington caps I get 980, CCI, I get 1050)

They hit pretty hard. And what I love about the Remington is the ease of cylinder swaps. A couple spare cylinders loaded in advance,,,

No, she isn’t gonna be a run n gun type( too much smoke), but she does very well for deer hunting. (Yes, I use a six shooter on Bambi; get over it.) I would enjoy the carbine replica they make (prolly run 40gn of powder since there is more barrel to burn it) but have never had the cash when they were in stock. And its not exactly a main line goal of mine either.

I spent 30 minutes throwing arrows while waiting for lead to melt. Some things are like riding bikes; archery is like that for me. Back to using my dads 40# grizzly bear. She’s almost as old as me and still shoots true. I gave up on the compounds: way to much shoulder damage, and I have always been a point shooter anyways. All those sights and stabilizers and releases,,, just feels to artificial. Plus, I can make my own bow strings for a recurve: much harder to do for a compound (I could, but would have to play quite a bit to get my jig configured)

For the record, I hold the view that there are NO obsolete tools, only obsolete tactics. And I try to keep my tools as functional as possible.

(And no, that is not my only firearm, but I sure as shit am not gonna give a list here.)

So wrap out the day with something fitting my mood for a dance tune.
