Tha’s my goal at least. Yesterday’s fiasco with Confetti’ed wallet, a diode getting smoked, and needing to return a controller (can’t say I broke it, can’t say I didn’t, but it started burning out fuses with NO LOAD. Maker contacted and says will repair. Just gotta send it back. ) No, the diode wasn’t smoked by the controller, I didn’t even have it inline at that point. I think it was already bad from the word ‘go’ as it smoked as soon as power was applied. (and the replacement didn’t)
Whats a Dio to do when the goal is to not blow nuthin’ up? Not much. Gonna move half of the carport over to Buffalo’s temporary stall and maybe start tearing into her engine replacement. Not going to get it done today, obviously, but, maybe, at least start getting wiring harness and such out of the way. I’m hoping this is considered safe territory by the Gremlins that have been making my life so interesting of late.
And maybe continue building the parts for the Array. I’m using an old drybox for the relays and switches. Setting it up so I have the choice of manual or auto alignments and using the relays to ‘unload’ the controller and limit switches. Since I have to wait on the controller to return, No rush. Not going to come up with anything wild and dangerous at this stage. NO BLOWIN’ SHIT UP!

Already wired up the relays and tested them (at least to make sure the polarity filters do thier thing, and when I found that bad Diode) The coils on the relays will pull a lot less amperage through the I/O circuit, so I shouldn’t be frying a controller or limiters. Thats the idears anyways. Electrical stuff sometimes has other plans, often with no forwarning. Will see.
Went ahead with automotuve relays i stead of the reclaimed units. Getting enough smiked parts, wanna play it safe(r).
So, Coffee (without burning down the house) breakfast, (without tossing a cat through a window), and then start moving a carport, or at least half of one. Gotta keep Bloo under cover to ya’know! (its really just a pipe frame with tarps covering the cars. It works for me.)
More laters, and hopefully no more meltdowns, blow-ups, or making of confetti (with what? he asks. I’m sure I don’t wanna find out. LOL) (Update on the confetti’ed wallet: New cards are ordered and on way, Debit card cost me for the rush delivery but is what it is. I’ll be back to normal in a couple weeks and until then,,,, Hell, I’ve been here already once this year, this is old hat now.)
