I won’t be quoting the email. but I’ve recieved one recently that “BLAM!” opened up a rush of ‘this is why I keep at this’.
2008: the year my world flip-flopped into this chapter/volume. Was just before the crash, watching the politicos show thier UNIPARTY colors in full, recently seperated from a 7 year longterm relationship, including a house and two dawgums. Moved into a 15’x15′ studio apartment with purt much just the shirt on my back. Didn’t even have a vehicle at that point; was using my daughters honda while building the resources to buy my own. In a career I had chosen to ‘better suit’ my other half, and was rapidly finding was ‘not me’; physically or mentally.
Yah, I was a mess. And the timing was perfect to illustrate just how mucked up the world was, not just my frellin’ life.
Started the blogging thing as my outlet at the time was a Forum (remember those?) that folded up. I needed someway of getting the thoughts in my head out where they could be picked apart by others. Otherwise, I would start this circular logic thing and get all discombobulated. Echo chambers are not your friends, especially an echo chamber of one.
But since then, it seems like we are continually climbing this hill of STOOPID. More and more, the actions of those that should know better lead to further choices that compound the hill of stupid, and things just keep getting worse.
At some point, this shit is gonna collapse. You can only prop up bad shit like this for so long, before the supports fail. And I think we can all hear the creaking timbers these days.
I won’t go into what you need to know in the coming days/weeks/months/years. They’ve been covered and covered all around the spheres. But I would like to point out a little something not so obvious. We all need skills. Things that we know how to do under the most austere conditions. And it doesn’t need to be some grandiose skill. Imagine the dummy of the tribe, way back in Grog’s day. He wasn’t the brightest boy in the mix, but man, he could light a fire! That ONE skill, could be the leverage point for life or death of the tribe. One fire in a grass plain to drive the herd of buffalo over the cliff, and the entire tribe eats like kings for a year or more. The fire that provided the smoke to cure the meats, cook the meats, tan the hides for clothes, keep the tribe warm while they work, and drive off the hyenas at night.
See the point?
one fire
one skill
one person
I’ve more thoughts in my head about all of this, but its early, I need to go do the FRN pursuit. More laters
LLLLL!!!
