You know, way back nearly thirty years ago, I was a part of the machine as a Marine. Went to Kuwait and shot at people and got shot at by people. Managed to come home in one piece. Went on to live my life. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of being a Marine, going … Continue reading Vee haff veys! Indeed

Of all the changes that are coming down the pike, the ones such as this Leave me the most perplexed. As I asked when I went into said place of business, "just how do they propose for you to enforce this?" But seeing how cowed our society has become,,, Enforcement isn't the question when civil … Continue reading Srsly?

And mine is improving.Chop ranging from frog ripples to 2' with caps. Wind pretty steady at 6knots gusting to 15 or so. Paddling was quite energetic and I found a problem. That skeg I added works great to keep you in a straight line, in calm water. Toss in waves abeam or quartering and that … Continue reading State of mind

Keep looking, keep freaking, and keep waiting for one of the four horsemen to arrive at your bedside any moment now. Watching the world lose its collective mind,,, Saw somewhere a commenter make a claim that persons in denial (IE : myself) should be made to clean hospital tents with whatever PPE is/isnt available. that is the true rate, locking down the world with potentially tremendous social and financial consequences may be totally irrational. It’s like an elephant being attacked by a house cat. Frustrated and trying to avoid the cat, the elephant accidentally jumps off a cliff and dies. RTWT I have been saying it despite ridicule behind … Continue reading I wish I had written this.

Biggest issue

My biggest problem is not fear. Its anger. Anger at the weak spined that seemingly are the majority of this country now. Anger at our Government for being 1)complacent 2)over-reaching 3)over-reacting. Anger that making anything that resembles a plan at this point is asking for a leap of faith in humanity: a faith that's not … Continue reading Biggest issue

WINGS OF CHANGE

What happens when a wounded veteran, a computer genius, and a handful of fiercely independent misfits decide that the best way to change the world is to stop waiting for someone else to do it?

G has spent years flying from a wheelchair, learning to make the sky obey him even when his body won’t. T is a computer wizard with a mysterious past, an enormous extended family, and a talent for turning impossible ideas into working machines.

Together, they build things that shouldn’t exist.

Aircraft that push the limits of what remote flight can do. Technology born in garages and workshops instead of corporate boardrooms. And a community of people who have decided that family isn’t necessarily something you’re born into.

But building extraordinary machines attracts attention.

Soon G, T, and their growing family find themselves caught between government agencies, competing agendas, and people who would very much like to know exactly what they’re capable of. What began as tinkering and experimentation is becoming something far more consequential.

Because when you build something powerful enough to change the rules, eventually somebody comes looking for the keys.
