Not that I’m saying that ‘At’ you guys. Its a saying I mumble when I am dealing with Mediocrity, and reminding myself that others may have issues I can’t see binding thier hands/actions.
Water still not turned on. Called. Other than the rude factor, which from online polls, is the Operational Constant, all the answers were reasonable and sound,
and dead wrong.
“your control at the house must be off” Um, No, I would know if I had turned that off. I have no pressure at the spigots.
“um, the guy that is supposed to do that can’t be reached right now”
“well, We DO have three business days to get your service turned on”
mumblegrumble, repeat mantra till its burned indelibly into my cortex,,,

“Thank you, you have a wonderful and blessed day ma’am” They have the monopoly on the market since its County, and there are no other providers, and it shows by the level of incompetence they apparently tolerate and that may be why the young lady tends towards rude. I’m sure its a defense mechanism after years of getting blasted for crappy tech services and her being the contact at the front end. AND, Being County, I’m betting that county employees can’t be fired; short of holding the smoking gun over a dead body, or found holding the bag with all the missing money. And very likely, there would be an internal investigation and the person would be retained or laterally moved, but not FIRED,,, Or my favorite “Administrative leave” with pay for some period of time, usually long enough for victims to forget details or be appeased that ‘something was done’.
This country has a meritocracy problem. Merit used to be the foundation. Now, the foundation is “avoid the lawsuits”.
“What do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start!”
right turn, different subject, different road.

Yuppers, Tied on one last night, and took precautions to avoid the ‘head’ issues this AM. Fred sent a query about such and I was able to respond quite positively. No hangover, Spirit in a much better position and yup, the Cozz came home asking if it was safe again. I know; sensitive pupper ears and all: I apologized and gave gratuitous belly and ear rubs. He perked up after that. I needed an unwinding and hadn’t fired up the system in quite awhile. Not a complete unwinding, but the springs aren’t coiled to the breaking point now.
It’s a muhnday, solo day at shop, not a full day, but was getting putrid hot in the oven I call “shop”. Skeeters were in high spirits too. Might not have lost a quart of blood, but I has enough welts from the lil’bastards to show some loss was done. Skeeters and other vermin are the only saving grace of colder weather in my miniscule opinion. Its a comin’ And I’ll be btichin’ about that when it gets here. Betcha! LOL I am so like my Da,,, More so every year. I may not be a technophobe like he, but I am just as obstinate about unneeded changes. Or in his case, Unwanted such. His recent changes were warranted, but that doesn’t mean he wanted them.
When I stopped in, I gathered he has been using the phone, but isn’t making real effort to learn anything about it. I truly wish I could make his desires possible with the flip-phone, but without a carrier change, that ain’t happening. My troubles aren’t in his viewfinder, he has no clue what hoops I jump through now.
As it should be I guess. Just keep the grump grumpin’ and he’s happy. He ain’t a grumpin’: something is way off.
Like him, I miss that sort of stuff too. But I also see the writing on the wall, and have little desire to be left adrift. I think the following Meme says more without words, for those of over 50. Amiright?

But thats the wrap of the day, Chill time for a bit, a walk over the trailer to check water pressure around “end of business day” to see if, maybe, it was just slowwalked by Leroy the Tech with crossed eyes and pigeon toes.
Y’all take care, talk more tomorrow
