Admit error, pull it back apart

Solar tracking array.   Error (sorta) was that I was sending hot signal straight to relay coils, instead of through the limiters.   What that did was get coils warm, because they were still in ‘closed’ position, but driving nothing except themselves.

Probably not an issue: these are automotive relays after all.   BUT, why keep doing the poor beasties a disservice by asking them to do work for no reason.

SO,,,,,

I pulled it all back apart tonight after the J.O.B. thingy, and rewiring so the signal runs through the limiters, pre-relay, and the motor feed is straight from the relays.  This should reduce the wear and tear on the relays as well as the limiters (less amperage the diodes have to filter.)

Well, daylight failed me before I was able to get it all back in working order, and y’know what?   It can wait till tomorrow.   The whole thing is not mission critical at this point and I don’t wanna fubar something by working in the dark by headlamp.    I did put the array in the central position between limiters before I pulled it all apart, because I had this suspicion I wasn’t gonna beat the sun.

Almost there for the reveal of it all. (with pics!) And that post will also be the “things I learned so you don’t have to” post.  Along with some thoughts of consideration for those thinking about this project in their personal world.  Just little things, like location choice (mine was made on weather conditions, not productivity conditions.  I’ll explain in that post.)

One other thing might be in that post.  I am going to set up the trail camera on time lapse video so you can see it work as the day progresses and not take 10 hours of humdrum mindnumbing nothingness happening.   At least that’s the plan. Depends on how  big the file is and how  long the actual footage is.  I don’t want something that runs 20 minutes for something so mundane.(like  maybe take one shot, every 5minutes.   That would make the vid under 3 minutes long.)   No pinkysworn promises here: that trail camera is kinda finicky and tricksy.

It was a Muhnday, like many Muhndaze prior and future Muhndaze to come.    Nothing excitng to talk about, except maybe the fun and games that took place in Poland over the weekend.  Not completely sure of all that, but the implications for the world order as we knew it, aren’t good.   I can already see re-migration becoming a thing, even though places like Somalia are already whining they are being flooded by deadbeats of their own making.   GOOD!  This country was NEVER set-up as a Charity program; never set-up as,and never intended to be such.

thatsawrap!   Y’all take care out there. Love y’all.   Stay Curious.
