Started off with Friday night pool session; Liv, Brady, myself being the only krazy kayakers to show up, that meaning we were able to focus on each of us in turn, one practicing while two watched and corrected errors. I managed to start rolling the Jefe from standard position, not the extended position. Still not rolling off-sides, but I didn’t even try this round. My left shoulder is still a touch grumpy from the failed attempt the week prior.
Then, Saturday, I finally paid off Big Blue, who may be getting the moniker of “Cookie” (like cookie monster,,,) dunno: still have time to figure her quarks out, and those usually result in the name. And I spent the remaining afternoon and partial evening hanging with B and his significant other, T. We worked on his long boat, formerly my first long boat. Made some changes to the rudder deployment and how it secures. Did a lot of swapping of stuff and lending things around. He has one of my greenlands now while I am sporting a set of his hand paddles: thats gonna be a fun pool session 😁. He is still in convalescent mode after shoulder surgery so when he does get back on water, it’ll prolly be a lot of flat water and slow moving class 2 max until he gets back to normal. And also why I made sure he has a Greenland in his quiver: they help me out with bad shoulders n such.
And today was piddle n domestics. Laundry, started cutting a new blank for a Greenland paddle, a highly modified GP in this case. Just an experiment mind you, but I love my GPs so much, I want to use sometging similar in WW. Shorter length, fatter blade with concave faces and an exaggerated spine, but maintaining the loom profile. And B gave me two beautiful pieces of Ash to work with. A might heavier than my usual choices, but this blade is intended for situations where blade meets rock on a regular basis.
And tomorrow its back to my usual routine. Weekends are not long enough,,,
But things are starting to blossom up and spring is gaining momentum.

And yes, I am decidedly IGNORING the poli-tickian sphere in ths post
