I have gone in circles ranting about the failure (intended situation) of the public education system.
This article takes it a further step as a solution for unity. Not neccesarily nationwide across all divides, but definitely one amongs the varied factions of the right.
Heres a quote “People ask why we cannot come together. The answer is simple: we need to have common ground to unify. That common ground is our children’s future. Do not be led astray by other topics that are used to divide us such as immigration, voting or free money to buy our silence. Imagine if our efforts were united to form a nationwide private school network where our children would be taught reason instead of irrationality. Imagine what would happen in only six years if our children were not taught propaganda to rule their minds?
The pandemic has taught us one important lesson: we can organize classrooms on the Internet to teach a standardized curriculum to educate our children. Imagine how much money we would save by eliminating the Department of Education, school construction and maintenance, as well as teacher salaries and teacher union malfeasance.” (Emphasis mine)
My eldest Granbehbie is in the 6th grade: cannot read cursive writing, has a struggle reading hand printed words, but can type 80wpm and knows how to code HTML and run a server. Math is a function used on a calculator app, and grammar is autocorrect, but she can edit video for her website. (Its almost like they jumped from “abc’s”, to C++ straight out of the gate) She knows nothing about history unless her mother told her about it. Asked who a president is, and why they are important (I was torn here, give the anarchist version or the Civics version,,,, ouch) There is zero rhyme or reason to what she has been taught, and no foundations to build on. Her business skills are high for an employee, but shitte for running a business since she doesn’t understand the maths or mechanics of a P&L or an asset/liablity sheet.
She was 8 when she told her mom she wanted to be a lesbian. My daughter rolled with the punches of that one just fine, and now Granbehbie is running through a normal puberty without additional self-doubt instilled by crap like the stuff linked in the article.
This is NOT a home issue. This is strictly a schooling issue (and my daughter and I go rounds on pulling the kids out of that shit, and doing the homeschool thing, but I digress) and the mom struggles to fix the damage done by the schools. She wins some she loses some. And the way things are going, she is losing more often. I have offered to take the kids in or even move back to the shithole area to be closer to teach the kids,,,, I won’t delve into details of the argument but we are sitting on stalemate currently.)
I wrote here a few times about how life was before education was boxed, pasteurized and homogenized. Family homes were multi-generational, kids ‘rents, grandparents, and occasionally great-grandparents. Raising the next generation was typically done by the prior generation, not the current one. Then we moved into industrial times and the family shrank. Progressivism encouraged shrinking it even further and moving the mom out of the house, making the boxed education system seem like a solution.
And the chickens have come home to roost. I see it with our new hires. I see it in my grankids. I saw it last night at the store as a young girl couldn’t count my change back: and she grumbled I needed to use my debit card instead of cash.
We need united on one front, and uniting for future generations should be the main reason why. And good argument for that is “would you want the next generation taking care of you when you’re enfeebled and old? Answer yes, then the job is satisfied: No, then there is work to be done.
