Human nature is based on inherent laziness; path of least resistance is always choice. We may work hard, but the decision to do so is based on making things overall, easier. We bust our humps planting, nurturing and harvesting crops, not because we like busting our humps, but because we like eating when all other food is scarce. Its ‘a conservative thing’ to plan ahead and make provisions for hard times. It makes life easier when all else sucks and wants to kill you. When we were hunter-gatherers, there were times of scarcity that destroyed entire tribes. Wars were to protect resources, or to grab said resources. It wasn’t about ‘power’, it was survival.
I’m seeing tribal division within the country. Conservatives vs Socialist/Communist, Elite vs Deplorable, blue collar investor vs white collar oligarch,
I’m seeing the tapestry of society breaking apart.
And maybe, thats a good thing. The foundations are cracked and torn. The firmament beneath, isn’t so firm. The boundaries that polite society needs to get along have been twisted and distorted beyond recognition, and if you complain about it you are labeled a bigot. Fascist, white supremacist (no matter the color of your skin) or worse. Gaslighting is a daily normal and “woke” is the definition for people we used to call delusional paranoid schizophrenics.

The hoopla with reddits peeps slamming street of Walls, to me, is frickin hilarious. Gamblers know that there are ups, AND downs. You gamble in S&Bs, you are still gambling. Running shorts is a bluff, and the hedgies running that bluff got caught with thier short hairs in the zipper. That they are now being protected and held like a toddler with a burned pinkie shows the tribal lines.

What you saw in DC on the 6th,,, Sure as shit was NOT riot, and definitley not ‘insurrection’. If it had been the latter, there would have been holiday festivus decorations on every lamppost for blocks around the capitol building.
