A pictoral for ya,

August 12, 2014 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

Not much to say about things with the exception of "If'n ya ain't gettin pissed off, you surely aren't payin' attention." Nearly to the point of "let it burn" myself. Anywhoos, some pics of progress of the best kind. (note: the gears are homemade as I couldn't find two matching gears anywhere.   They obviously had … Continue reading A pictoral for ya,

Blasphemy, Heresy, Burn’im at the stake!

July 27, 2014July 27, 2014 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

I don't know how many of you have ever read anything by Richard Bach. I guess it really doesn't matter, but it may help some with some of what I will be tapping out in this post. See, for the longest time, I was an extremely angry person. Horribly torn up inside, very bitter spiritually, … Continue reading Blasphemy, Heresy, Burn’im at the stake!

Border war, or Civil war: Choose one.

July 17, 2014 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

Oh where to begin with my thoughts of late? Been working on solutions to issues on this end, alternatives to the FRN dilemma that seems to be a growing concern for nearly all middle classed persons I know of. In my case, as noted, I want to build my house and the current growing … Continue reading Border war, or Civil war: Choose one.

GOT EXTENSION CORDS?

July 8, 2014 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

I know that more recently, I have been keeping a lid (or at least trying to) on my political/world views. I have to break the silence. This is going to be a rant, suggestive and blatant, and while I will keep the adult words to a minimum, I know there will be some that get … Continue reading GOT EXTENSION CORDS?

Semper Gumby

June 20, 2014 by diogenesoftherifle, posted in Uncategorized

In light of my current silence, I have to reassure you that I am not dropping off the blog scene.  Not yet anyways. I have been a busy little bee of late though and that is cause for my silence.   Luckily for you, today is one of those "humidity so high you need scuba gear … Continue reading Semper Gumby

WINGS OF CHANGE

What happens when a wounded veteran, a computer genius, and a handful of fiercely independent misfits decide that the best way to change the world is to stop waiting for someone else to do it?

G has spent years flying from a wheelchair, learning to make the sky obey him even when his body won’t. T is a computer wizard with a mysterious past, an enormous extended family, and a talent for turning impossible ideas into working machines.

Together, they build things that shouldn’t exist.

Aircraft that push the limits of what remote flight can do. Technology born in garages and workshops instead of corporate boardrooms. And a community of people who have decided that family isn’t necessarily something you’re born into.

But building extraordinary machines attracts attention.

Soon G, T, and their growing family find themselves caught between government agencies, competing agendas, and people who would very much like to know exactly what they’re capable of. What began as tinkering and experimentation is becoming something far more consequential.

Because when you build something powerful enough to change the rules, eventually somebody comes looking for the keys.

A beginner’s guide to going off grid. how to evaluate if you even want to make the attempt. written by the curmudgeonly author of this blog and his dog
