I've mentioned Buzz in a couple of posts, but have held off introducing her since I wasn't sure she was a permanent addition or not. Not that I was going to be rid of her or anything; its just that cats don't have much in longevity 'round here. Coyotes, feral dogs, racoons, and what not … Continue reading Not so new family member intro

Some thoughts, totally at random
Humidity, kayak skins and Dio. Nylon is hydroscopic, I knew this going in. I didn't pay attention to the humidity index while sewing, just the temps, figuring I was spraying water on it, good enough. Wrong answer. Humidity index was in the mid 30's then. This week its been 80-100% and the yak looks "floppy". … Continue reading Some thoughts, totally at random
Dio vs Yak. Win-win
Last post about the kayak until christening and launch. Just final pics as its complete now. Final weight is 29.9 lbs. My target was 30 or less. Mission accomplished. Enjoy. PS: the cockpit cover is on here. Have to keep the barn wrens out. They already tried building a nest in it just this morning.

Dio vs Yak rnd 9 part 2
Just a coupla views to show progress. Still need to iron out some wrinkles from sewing, one from where the nylon was folded up and kinked; I just could not pull it flat while sewing and pulled a couple holes open more than I would like. No worries, they will seal up, but with more … Continue reading Dio vs Yak rnd 9 part 2
Thoughts during this holiday season.
T.L. Davis is one of my regular reads. Having briefly met him back a few years ago, and heard him speak, he is, IMO, one of the backbone pieces in what I consider "an American Movement". Patcoms are one part of it and sadly were railroaded by some bad actors. The Militias are another example … Continue reading Thoughts during this holiday season.
Dio vs Yak: rnd 9 part 1
Its been a strange trip to this point. Lots and lots of learning curves. But this part seems to be the hardest. Getting the ends set in place was intense, as they are tight. You sew up one end, and mark where to sew the other, remove the sewn end and sew up its opposite. … Continue reading Dio vs Yak: rnd 9 part 1
