Mostly done

With Ram Cummins Turbo Deisel truck bed install.    I REALLY need to start taking pictures of this crap, because this one turned out NICE.    Still had the whole wiring harness (discussed) with all the sensors and lights and cameras and gee-gaws.    Only lost the switch and the solenoids for the tail gate.  Everything else is THERE.

I had to fabricate some small brackets to retain the sensors in the holes I drilled for them, riveted in place.   Same with the Backup camera, but its held in place with a pair of 1/4-20 bolts and nuts and small bracket.   Then wire  in the tail lights and tuck everything away to prettify it.   Lots of zip-ties later,,,

And no pictures.   Dangit…   I the worst at this ‘self promotion’ shit.

BUT, Son of Bossman was impressed,  I was impressed!   It really looks good.  You have to look close to see the sensors and camera. (unless you are underneath in the rats nest of wiring harnesses)

And the truck recognized everything and seemed happy with it.  Didn’t get any weird hiccups or “nopes, nottagonna,,,”   Camera installed right side up and level, sensors signal moving objects on screen, and all the lights light up as they should.

Still need to mount the fill tubes for the fuel and DEF (I do not like that crap, think its a flat scam personally) and one more add-on, not bed related.   He has some nerf bars/running boards to install.

But the thing will pass a DOT inspection  (once the fuel fills are restrained)

And it was Frellin’ hot today.  Local temps didn’t go over a hundred.   But in that shed/carport, it was easily 110, with only the occasional tease of air flow.   I took lots of little walking breaks where it felt cooler by far than under that carport, even with the sun beaming on me.

Long weekend ahead.   Collect a paycheck tomorrow, but no work on Fridays anymore (dunno how long that will last, but we will see.)   And gonna see about making things for Bloo so she can haul a kayak on occasion.   (No full time riders like Buffalo did/does when running)   I like the idea Brudda B mentioned in comments for an extension hitch.  One problem: Bloo doesn’t have a hitch yet.    THAT may be the project this weekend.   I have lots of angle, c-beam, i-beam and plate,,,   I’m a fabricator; have grinder and welder on hand.  (torches too, but outta the hot gas for now. That needs rectified in the near future.)    And I need to move the Buffalo to a more ameneable spot for engine swap.   (she no longer moves under her own power.  engine barely runs at all and not for very long.)

Me time,,,   Three days to figure it out, then back to the grind.

UPdates all weekend, maybe some further commentary on Tech and the ‘real world’, but I’m keeping my nose out of the politics.  Its all hogswash now.  So long as the fucktards don’t go playing with the triggers on Canned Sunshine, we’ll get through this.  Let the collapse happen, people keep on keeping on, always have, always will.

Love y’all.  Stay curious.
