Went’n’picked up the engine hoist tonight. Right where I left it, untouched. Shoulda told ’em to come get it themselves when they were ready, instead of me wasting fuel and time like that. Is whut it is: sort of expected here-bouts as well.
Been a damned good day. Pay in bank, a couple bills paid and didn’t hurt (much). Room to pay more ahead of time and not dent my livelihood ‘tween paydays. Work done on Buffalo and a list of parts that need ordered. (like a new Dizzy, not reman, NEW) Created one that needs ordered: oil pressure unit. Danged things are blinkin’ fragile and in that wyrd-ass spot just waiting for a fumble-fisted tech to come along.
Dunno that I will drop the swap in this weekend or not. I still desire to do the front end thing, replacing the pitman arm and such, and much eaiser to do with all the whirly bits out of the way. But I can have the old block out of there by Sunday, no doubt. Doing such keeps me at home and keeping at home means I don’t go spending money on frivolity.
Besides, I still need to get the upper gasket kit and replace the rear main seal ( don’t know if it needs it, but I’m there: easier to do it now instead of dropping a transmission later.) Just little things really, but they do cost, and I would rather order online for a third the cost of local. And I don’t want to half ass this. I want things right, not leaky seepy messes. (like the oil cooler lines in there currently Yuck!!!)
Buffalo is a good truck: she’s worth the extra effort.
Some good news dropped my way tonight, but I don’t want to go jinxing things, so I’ll keep mum for now. But what I heard gave me a fuzzy outlook on things, in addition to the productive day I had already. My fingers are crossed and my thoughts are oriented to positivity.
