Full day, crew lead, brainium in full frontal mode as these Vinyl Privacy fences get sorta techy-nickle at the terminators; such as gate openings.
Not quite finished on it, still need to construct the gates and hang them, and one small section left to bring the whole to closure. Elder crew lead (under my charge today) was bound and determined he was leaving ‘on time’.
As beat as I am from yesterday still, wasn’t gonna argue the point much. DId make it so we didn’t leave site until 4, so got our full 8 in.
And dunno which hanging job I will be on tomorrow. Construct gates, or finish powered gate install an hour away. They both are complicated, but the powered gate is giving me fits and NOT doing what it should. Could be a 30 second fix by moving one wire from terminal A to terminal Z, or it could be HOURS on the HelpDesk line, chasing ghosts with a DVOM. I’ve even had that Odd jumper being placed wrong at the factory screw me up before. 10Kohm terminator, but the jumper is set to 8K, so the computer sees a short and ignores commands.
But this am, beat to tears, slept through 2 snoozes on the alarm before I came to: and the question of “am I working for a living or living for WORK?’ came to the forethoughts.
I honestly do not know anymore. I work my tail off to pay the debts I incurred, but at what point do I get to live again?
The Stoic say “keep pushing, the reward is only a little further ahead”, the lazy bastard side of me “get the chickens, tend the garden, and tell the world to fuck off.” (notice lazy bastard isn’t really all that lazy,,,)
and who knows, tomorrow the world leaders pretend might just blow it all up and all of this chasing the almighty dollar to pay debts with usury level interest rates will be moot. (and I’ll wish I had those chickens,,,)
I haven’t had a moment since I came home to play ketchup on the nets. That things are still looking like the day to day around here, my debit card is still accepted at the stores, and gas is still too frellin’ high; I’d say nothing much has changed out there beyond the mountain range I live in.
tomorrow is payday on a weak week, but I’ve managed to get some hours in so won’t be hurting. Two bills due this weekend (actually monday and wednesday, but I’ll pay as soon as the deposit clears.) so what I make is pretty much already spent away. Yup, Looking out the window to the driveway, I see it: A big Bloo Twuck!
sigh. Someday things might settle enough that others will be willing to hire out for repairs and she’ll start earning her keep better. Poor Buffalo is just sitting there, patiently waiting for Daddy to have a moment to install her engine and other repairs. Only so many hours in a day, and only so much me that I can spread around.
Love y’all. Stay Curious.
