Twilight,,,

the day is wrappin’ up.   And much done.

BLoo Twuck: not fixed, but I figured that was gonna be the case.  BUT, she is running on her own power again.  Had to Finger out a ‘remote start switch’ as the switch in the column is toast.    Easy ‘bandaid’ and not a permanent one.  Can be unplugged from the Relay box and the correct relay re-installed after I replace the column switch.   I used an old relay and some coaxial wire I had on hand with a push button connector.   Ran the wire between door behind the quarter panel and it rides on the dash for now.   Turn key to run, hit the switch and Vrroommmm! she’s a runnin’.  (gotta be careful, all the safeties are bypassed that way.)

Found the outlet to the little pond thats been backed up.   Was plugged up by a hickory nut.  Cut a couple inches off the pipe after digging it out, and the goop on the hill went down hill.    That little pond is a seep from an old deep mine in the hill.  Full of iron and sulfur, kinda stinky, but the plants love it.  So do the dawgums.  Jack-jack used to go up there and wallow in it: would come out all yellow and red covered, smelling like a rotten egg.  But the fleas did not appreciate his antics and fled for a week or two.   At which point, he’d be right back in it.

Laundry done, Unks house is shut down again.  (went ahead and left the water on for now.  Probably gonna repeat next weekend.)   After I got Bloo back in motion, I backed up to Unks porch and cleared off all the crap he had piled up there.  Big burn pile and nothing worth saving.  Big Recliner that had been sitting out there for years, probably heavily infested with fleas and other critters.    BURN IT!  I’m just at the point of “if it’s not of value enough for him to keep, its goin’way!”   I’ve a lot to do to that place to get it livable for a renter, or Da if such comes to be.   I won’t be fixing that heat pump just yet.   Wanna see about some other things first.   And it may end up being ‘Raze it and build a barn (with a bathroom since I DO have a septic system and water.)   Just random thoughts, not solid plans at this stage.  Too early, finances need settled down.

And I did a little more yard work.  Little here, little there, it adds up.  and as wet as it has been, the weeds are in full steroidal growth stage.  I mow a section today, by wednesday, you can’t tell.   Some of the areas are hip high and gonna be ‘fun’.

And the weeds killed his small bean patch this year.  I think one of the fam came up and only got a bushel.  Usually they take several bushels out of that patch.

Was talkin’ with Middle SIs and have some ideas as well as to how to utilize the property   Again, no solid plans, just thinks,,,   But the way the world is turning, Chickens and small truck garden wouldn’t be a bad thing.   Already have two good apple trees (and the reason I have DEER every night.  Haven’t seen the bear everyone talks about,  Yet,,,) Just gotta figure out what my black thumbs can do successfully.   Corn is not on that list.  (Corn and I have a negotiated ceasefire in order. I don’t eat it and it doesn’t tear my guts up.)

But that chicken idea runs smack dab against a recurring problem: Bad Cuz’s dawgs.   I made mention to Sis “I work for a fencing company, I could work out a deal to fence a big section off and that would keep the dogs away from the birds.   And plant the garden in there and the birds eat the bugs,,, win win, right?”  I’m well aware its never that simple,,,   Never is.   Sorta why I stuck to wrenches.. THOSE I do understand.   Feathered dinosaur descendents and green stuff; not so much.

But I can learn.
