Small hiatus and Domestics day

Yesterday, after subjecting my senstive self to watching CONgressional hearings (and 111 Pleas the Fifth) Short scan of the webs and I then “TUNED OUT”. Phone sat on charge all day, with me, but ignored. No Utoobie scrollin’, no net surfing. A break. A much needed break.

I didn’t even open the laptop to work on books.

Dealing with poopy-puppers, Cozzie jealousies, Irate MamaKatz and a downright curious ‘but not THAT close dawg!” Elbee. Been some yelps, hisses, deepgrowls and Barking Dad moments. (I don’t bark at them, but the sudden shift in pitch likely reminds them, I am the big dawg around here. )

I’ll be taking the pups to an Uncles house today. This is to get them to a shelter, a county shelter that I don’t reside in. The country shelter I can use is 40 miles away, and not accepting right now.

Me thinks with the rising prices, people are just dumping hungry mouths. And Sad to say, many of the ones doing such with pets, would likely do same with their kids if they think they could get away with it. (seeing how many of them around here pop the kids out, just to get a check from uncle sugar,,,, Many of the kids around here are feral, and far more feral than what my generation was growing up. My theory is that we at least had the benefit of elders/teachers with ethics still in place. This could be a very bad thing, or a very good thing; depends on how those kids evolve mentally as they age. )

To update on the pups though: the pair were playing this morning, actually playing and wrestling each other. They did find my shoes, but I was quick to the rescue and all of my shoes are now up and out of the way. Katz are staying scarce as to not become playmate potential (though Elbz looks on, uncertain but curious.) The fact that they are playing means they are no longer in strict survival mode. Full bellies will do that. and oh boy, those bellies,,, they need dewormed and vaccinated soon. Were I not in the financial straps I am in from Bloo, I’d make sure they were taken care of properly. I know I can get all of that stuff at the Tractor place, cheaper than getting them to a vet (and my vet suggests this because she knows how much difference there is, cost wise and that I can handle the tools. Not all can.) Its still more money than I have available. AND, I truly can’t keep them. My hands are full on so many tongs in the fire; two more “learn the ropes of living with katz” loads would shatter my focus on other things,

like writing

or getting wood put up for the upcoming winter months. (and I’ve been doing some lolligaggin on that: just being honest.)

Heck,,, I haven’t done a danged thing on that RocketMassHeater but think about it and where to get the resources I need to build it.

The last few months, I’ve been chasing that almighty dollar to dig myself out of this financial hole and thats putting dings on everything else. I am making headway, but,,,

toss in two more dawgums? don’t think so.(and they are now passed out from morning play and feeds,,, Too damned cute. DO NOT GET ATTACHED DIO!!!)

Ok,,, I gotz shit to do, laundry needs cleaned, REALLY needs cleaned since some of my towels were used to clean up puppy accidents. and I need to move these little gurls to somewhere with better resources for their health and welfare. (and aleviate Cozzie anxieties/jealousy)

More laters. Love y’all

Stay curious

  1. DO NOT NAME THEM!!! That is akin to putting your brand on them. Name ’em, keep ’em…
You do not want to keep these girls. Girls are cute and cuddly but eventually girls mature into mothers…
Cheap meds at tractor supply are a financial stretch? Spaying two pups gonna be real spendy.
FWIW, see if your local vet will barter with you. Mine does and it’s been a huge benefit for both of us. Especially since kittens show up regularly. All four cats wandered up as kittens. Well, three did. Riley showed up first, full grown. But they all just appeared. But that’s cats for you. They do what they’re gonna do and you kinda gotta just roll with it.

    1. NO NAMES If I had made that mistake, you’d have read their names already. Right now they are “babies” and thats what I call when I need their attention. (funny, it also gets the Katz to coming in. )
I’ve done all the calculatin’ of costs; current, future and on going, and really don’t want to think about the drain two more would cause. Cozz is a huge drain (though much better now that he is out of pupper phase. He still eats like a horse.)
Local vet/barter. something to look into.
