I’m watching some on the Right disparage the coming holiday of 250th birthday of this country. COUNTRY,,, Not the government, though the founding documents are that old. No, Our current Government in its present incarnation is only 2 years old.

Think about it. Every 4 years, we voat in harderer new faces. That some of those faces have been around 20-30-40 years does not mean THEY are the Government. The rules don’t make the government either, its the All of the people in place, making decisions on those rules; like we just saw with SCOTUS nullifying an EO about Birthright citizenship. We get a few bad actors at the Federal level, we have hidden faces in the Bureaucratic level (and thats one of those areas that SERIOUSLY needs overhauled and re-written) but the Goverment changes with every (s)Election cycle, Slowly, almost Glacially slow, and believe me, THAT is a goodness.
If it was able to morph around like the skin color on a Chameleon, this country wouldn’t have lasted near as long as it has. Hell, it was nearly destroyed back in 1865. Some would say it WAS destroyed back then and what replaced it is what we have now. I won’t argue: there were certainly some “things that make you go ‘hmm’ ” events at that time that wouldn’t fly so easily in this Information age. Changes MUST be slow, deliberate, and challenged for standing. Not legal standing, but to see if they can hold against the Challenges. The 14th Amendment stood that challenge this week. I’ve read both sides, and while the majoirty vote seriously sounded “feel good” over deliberate thought, the fact is that Precedent is how courts work, there were solid arguments for the majority (not that I agree with them, but I understand how that Precedent thing works.)
And here’s the REAL Kicker, and why I am not at all concerned that things are gonna go further left of center in that area.
There is NO Federal Birth Certificate.
The States control the certification of Births, States can QUICKLY put the 14th amendment under a microscope using the 10th Amendment as legal standing for such, and do exactly what that EO was intended to do. Make it so motor-mama’s don’t bury us in dual citizen babies and anchor moms/families. Blue states be warned, Red states need to get BIZZY on this.
But let me circle back to that point above, where some people are saying this “holiday” is a hollow-day backed by nothing but religious fervor over a dead corpse. Sorry. NO. Yes, Waco,,, Yes Ruby Ridge, Yes, Leroy Finnicum, and a list of others. You can even toss in things further back, like Kent State,,,
Those were the actions of the Government of that time. The faces behind the decisions that lead to those points are now out in the public sector (for the most part.) Are there actors from that time in place still, possibly, maybe even likey, but are they in a position to push for even more events like those? I don’t think so. The ineptitude we have seen out of departments like INTEL, and DOD with current ‘war’, and what not. No, Things are not as they want us to believe. That there are still cover-ups taking place is beyond question IMO, but even the most die-hard Doomer has to admit there are lights shining in some normally dark and musty corners of that “beacon on the hill”.
things move slowly,,, We DO NOT want them moving at the speed like we saw between the fall of Wiemar Germany and the rise of The Third Reich.
Is it frustrating? Oh Hell yes!!! Even I have said I want to see arrests and public executions around this shop more than a few times. I’ve even said, put on pay for view and lets put a ding in the national debt.
There are those on the Left that cry “No KINGS” Wish granted. We dont’ have any here on this soil.
Hey,,, did that one sting? Not sorry,,, Its how I have seen it for some time. Wanna make change, MAKE THE CHANGE, don’t ‘force’ your desires on others in ways that you aren’t willing to do yourself. That whole “there aughta be a law” argument I have beat on here a time or three. (I used to do an annual post of that, but self-plagerizing is a problem when the real point is so damned simple.)
Utopia is an illusion of the individual. Period. You will never get two people to agree what the ideal Utopia IS, even if they are of like mind, because there are minor differences of opinion that will infect and destroy from within. Every! Single! Time!
example being my current living arrangements. May not be at the level I desire, but I am COMFORTABLE. I can tell you right now, were I to bring another person into this little reality, it would be destroyed in very short order and made into something ‘Compromised” to appease both sides. Neither will be 100% happy with the end result, but we could get along. But the before and after would be wildly different. Start chucking the numbers higher by powers, and you get

with enough wiggle room written in to be able to change, SLOWLY, as time dictates changed need. We have added amendments over time,,, we will again, but there is one in particular that almost never gets utilized and that is the 10th. Our states have been compromized by a Federal Stimulus Addiction. The States need to start taking some of that power BACK.
