That was yesterday, and reason for my Unauthorized Absence. Been hella busy this week.
Ventilation in Storage shed. (nasty cutting that insulation, but at least its not Fiberglass) Solar powered vent fan and it works like a champ. New STEEL barrow handles on that tool. Makes like brand new, just needs a good tire again. (Best Ax I’ve ever had, replaced the handle three times and the head twice! ROFL sorry, old joke,,,)
BOM has a new post up, and HELLA GOOD idea. Probably never see it happen, but I would say such a program would open more than a few eyes.
Lord knows my ‘education’ really started when I was able to visit ‘elsewhere’ and see the reality vs the narrative.
Personally, I would absolutely ADORE the idea of traveling the Asian continent again, only this time to explore all of those glorious temples that science still can’t explain away.
But I’m gettin’ old, not a rich man, and have anchors holding me in place that aren’t easily cut free. And I have no back up plan. (not 100% true, but this Off-grid thing sort of IS my backup plan.)
but I digress
Little story for ya, from today, illustrating My McGuyver side. Had a rolling gate that became a headache. The bloody things MUST be set dead level or you can’t move them easy. Well, one of those 46′ monsters was on an incline 6″ slope over 10′ from one end of the opening to the other, it went from ground level to 18″ gap to ground. Customer was “Not impressed” and wanted it ‘Fixed”. My idea was, since it opens downhill, add barbwire arms on the lower side, same as we do up top (to clear the wheels they are offset) and close that gap up with sharp things. Son of said this AM “Do it!” Saddle up, load up welder and tools, head out,,,
On site, 50+ miles away and I look at Burnout (my assist today) and ask “Did we pack my hood?” OOPS!!!!
Aw-shit, now what. Not gonna drive a 100 miles round trip for what amounts to 15 minutes of welding, what to do what to do,,,,
And my Physics courses from HS in the 80’s come streaming back online: Polarized glass, Rotating polar planes,,, I have polarized sunglasses on. Pop out the left lense (I’m right eye dominant) and tape it over the right at 90 degrees. DARK! REAL DARK! And I was able to get those arms welded on. Only a little flash tan on the exposed face: about the same had I been paddling on open water, but my eyes aren’t burned out of my skull either. I showed Burnout how it works and he was blown away.
OSHA violations R-us!!! ROFLMAO. It ain’t cheating if it WORKS! And work it did. Was actually darker than my usual hood settings for this type of welding. Just welding one-eyed was “odd”,,,

The finished (sorta, needs paint) product.
Its time for weekend fun,,, Only, not,, Gots lots to do, moving stuff from downhill to up hill, and try to keep it organized so that its accessible as well. so fun times playing living tetris in small building.
I’d really like a good paddlin’,,,

Not that sort silly! This sort

Gowrsh that looks heavenly,,,,
