First showing is the difference between the old and new Dizzy shafts.

In the second one, you can see where the thrust pressure had destroyed the bearings and was driving the shaft up and out. Even ate some of the gear in the process.
On with the show.

VERY empty engine bay.
Gonna need newmounts. Not displeased as they appeared O.E. and O.E. was over three hundred thousand miles ago.
Now that half of the hard part is out of the way, I can start to work on the steering geometry with little hassle, and clean up and seal the new(ish) block. Gotta make sure I do my half correctly and re-install should be a breeze. I’m even thinking of cutting that DS exhaust header off (been done before when they did the transmission) just to make getting everything back in less a headache. Heck, no thinking needed, I has welder!!! I is welder!!! Just do it!
And the weather turned nasty on me. Not raining YET, but soon. Enough time to clean up and put away tools (you do wipe yours down after use, right? I’m sorta OCD about it.) Not worried about that block sitting out in the rain. It can be rebuilt, but a little wet on it ain’t gonna hurt a thing. (new block is under wraps, )
And now, Domestics to be done, and cross fingers that weather the rest of the weekend looks better than whats outside right now.
Love y’all, Stay curious. More tomorrow.
LLLLL!!!
