Thats impossible!
I get a good laugh at some Utoooby channels. like this particular episode,,,
This is IMPOSSIBLE!
so explain it! Stating its impossible might help your ego, but there IT is, so ‘impossible’ doesn’t apply. It just means you can’t see where the solutions are.
Nor can I with modern knowledge. But I look back at all the ancient texts, how they are converging with modern science explorations, and think “Science that is beyond the imagination of the observer often appears to be magic.” impossible doesn’t come into play. At one point, magic WAS science. or something akin to it in status and hierarchy. So we can’t explain how these caves were carved out of solid granite during a time where ‘we know‘ they didn’t have iron tools or modern measuring devices.
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” Mark Twain.
And we found this daggum thing from the bronze age, and An Aussie Clock maker took it on himself to devise how people of that time could have made it. He even hand made ALL of the tools, heat treating things, experimenting with every aspect of what could be feasible production methods. ((if you are gearhead like me, you will find so much interesting stuff in that series of videos and Chris is a natural born story teller.))
What he didn’t even attempt to explain was how they knew all of the Astronomy that they did, without telescopes, or complex maths (they didn’t have a concept of zero for example. OR,, so we have been taught,,, )
IMPOSSIBLE.
You keep using that word, I don’t think it means what you think it means.
Stonehenge is theorized as an astronomical observatory and is far far older than ‘ancient Greece’. Current theories on Gobleki Tepe are for observatories with some convincing arguments. Not saying such is truth, but the arguments and maths are convincing.
And they didn’t have light pollution like we do. Or a gazzillion satelites in low earth orbit mucking things up.
Here’s a little ‘science fair project’ you can do at home. Take a peice of cardstock, use a needle to poke a hole into its center. Now, hold that up to the night sky and peer through the hole. Things get CLEARER to the naked eye.and you can control the focus by moving it closer or further away. Not saying this is how it was done, but certainly make sense to me. We do know they used holes cut in rock to isolate certain astronomical events; like the solstices.
So why am I bringing up Ancient IMPOSSIBLE architectures? Because the stories we read bear marked resemblance to astronomical events. Rebirth/solstices, dead for three days/ the sun appears ‘fixed’ at horizon for three days, just for two points. And many of those stories are mirrored in cultures well divided by oceans and distance. And many of these IMPOSSIBLE places were potentially observatories, and observatories would have been KEY RELIGIOUS SITES.
The Two oldest professions: Clerics and Prostitutes. (and I could make a joke with “but I repeat myself”)
These things can’t be “Impossible” because the proof is RIGHT THERE,,, The only thing impossible is KNOWING how it was done, right here, right now, with the extremely limited amount of knowledge we have about the people that ‘we think‘ built these things. I say that last because there is mounting proof, that the Egyptian Pharaohs did not build the Pyramids, but came along after the collapse of the culture that did. I seem to recall having read some theories that the builders fo Gobleki Tepe may have been the same or closely related to the actual pyramid builders. (And this could be fuzzy recall of something else ‘sort of’ related.)
But we do not KNOW,,,,
Two religions known to the world today, Zorastrianism and Hinduism, are leading competitors for ‘oldest, still active’. The timelines are close and due to calender discrepencies, no one truly knows.
But those are ones with written records.. What about the Druids? Or other religions of Sumerian or prior timelines?
There are some people in this world that say they are practicing Druids. Lets be complelely honest: What they are practicing is “best guess” because thats all we have to work with from archeological reconstructions. We don’t Know!
That we do know they existed says something. And to me, that something is this: Maybe the things lost are more than just some mystical teachings. Maybe the things lost were far more complicated and more powerful. Things powerful enough to carve a complex temple out of solid granite or andesite. Things that we might mistake for MAGIC in this Science fueled age. A science fueled age that is slowly reaching a convergence with Ancient teachings.
Could it be the mind is FAR MORE POWERFUL than we understand? Able to manipulate Matter in precise ways? Or effect outcomes ‘just by thinking it so’?
The Hermeticists thought so. Some Hindu sects lay claim to it. There are sects in Buddhism that make some pretty ‘fantastic’ claims as well. Biblical texts record many “fanstastic” events, some Divine in origin (as described) and some on the personal level: Jesus walking on water, Feeding thousands from a handful of some childs lunch,,,
Maybe we have been looking in the wrong directions and “The Kingdom is within you” had more hidden inside than just the words said.
More on the theme tomorrow. And I will wrap all of this up on Friday and ‘back to normal programming’,,, Which is to say, what ever frellin’ drops in and bounces around my cranium,,,
