Keepin’ to the theme

Before I start, It’s been a long day. Actual working day at the J.O.B. for a full 8. Oorah! Wanna keep that trend a-goin’.

Some’uv’y’uns are probably bored as heck with my Microtubule/Quantum revelations/ancient knowledge posts. Apologies, but I write what I write as it strikes my fancy. Please bear along, and keep an open mind: you may learn something you didn’t know. Lordy knows, I’m hitting spots that were a bit shallow and fleshing them out. This post may not seem ‘connected’ to the posts of earlier, but ALL of this ties together in some interesting ways. Ya just gotta stay with me for the trip.

Let me start by correcting something I stated in error. Not that I didn’t know, but that there is always confusion surrounding the point. The Kybalion. I stated that its an ancient text. It, Is, Not. Fact, that particular tome was published in the early part of the 1900’s. I believe 1908 was first publication. That fact out in the open now, there were several documents that lead up to that publication and most of them are quite a bit older than 1900. If you really want to dig into it, I LINK Wikipedia for you. Fact of the matter: The basis of the Kybalion was a mythical item (?) called the Emerald Tablet. Some of you just read that and said “Oh Great! Woo-Woo Bullshit!” Maybe so, but there are many REAL names that dug deep into research of it over the centuries. Isaac Newton, Thomas Jefferson just to name two. SO, Woo-woo it may be, but there were some quite intelligent people that didn’t see it as such.

My personal opinion: The actual works were in reality, distillation of REAL authentic-able Texts from even further back. Or, alternative systems of belief founded in other systems, and ‘distilled’ down.

The Upanishads. Bhagavad Gita, etc. Even some information from Sumerian times, though! such would have been transmitted over time through Oral Tradition. Even so, we are finding parallels of the information on cuneiform tablets in other texts, and many downright spooky connections to the Sumerian times buried within the Judaic Old Testament.

Some of y’all might ask me about the whole Buddhism thing too. I’m holding off on that as Siddhartha was from a Brahman family and was supposed to take his fathers place as Brahman. Instead, (as fictionalized by Herman Hesse.) He ‘opted out’ and the divergence created something new. Several something news over the centuries. He was well versed in those documents I already listed; The Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and many more. I am sure all of them had some coloration to his evolution from Brahma to Buddha. (interesting point here. Buddha is NOT a title: Just like ‘Christ’ is not intended to be a title, but a state of being. Christ means Anointed from the Greek word Christos meaning ‘smeared in oil’, Buddha means Enlightened one.)

Ok, enough of showing I have some background in this stuff. What’s the point of all of this? How does this tie in to the whole Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Microtubule thing?

For that, I need bring up a key concept in the Upanishads: Brahman as the ground of all being, Atman as the individual expression of it, and the core teaching that the two are identical (Tat tvam asi — “That art thou”)

 “Consciousness is Universe” in modern speak. What the Kybalion states as “As above, so below”. The words are different, the concepts are the same. And yes, I am probably oversimplifying things a bit. Let me take the parallel a bit further. In the above text of the Upanishads, ‘Brahman is the ground of all being’. In the Kybalion “The ALL is Mind, the universe is mental”.

Take that to something a little more modern. Christ said “The Kingdom is within you”. If you are a product of the universe, then you are part and parcel of the universe and can’t be separate from it. We feel separate, but in truth, we are as much universe as the star we orbit on this rock, or the entire Milky Way Galaxy, or the piece of sand stuck between your toes at the beach. We are the Universe experiencing itself. Like when you watch your thoughts, being the observer, but you can’t be the observer and remain the observed,,, Thats the Brahman/Atman separation. Thats where the whole things starts getting ‘a little wyrd’ and the very point that has been a thorn in philosophy and religion since written word (or even before,,,). Honestly, this point will be addressed in a later post, but keep it in the back of your mind for now.

So now, we are creating these ‘ultra-intelligent’ simulacrums called LLM’s and Agents. The difference being how they relate to the world. LLM’s deal with mostly words, Agents can deal with other things, like images, sound, video, and even physical real world applications, like running a robot to sort packages. They aren’t actually intelligent, anymore than my laptop is. They are machines running code with access to enormous amounts of information and the speed to be able to dig through that information far faster than us mere mortals. BUT, they must wait for input to respond. They do not have sentience.

And me personally, would like to keep it that way. I’m a tool user, thats a given. I don’t want my tools telling me how to go about doing things, UNLESS I ASK,,, And even then, I have the final say.
