Not to belittle the Residents of Florida

But I find it striking the amount of national coverage being applied to what took place last night in Florida, compared to the what happened a week ago in the Appalachian ridge.

People had better start waking up that our Lamestream Media putzes have an agenda.

That our ‘Agencies’ have an agenda (and a list of prefered vendors,,,, Says much about what is going on behind the curtain IMO)

Said and it and said it and I say it again.

STOP FEEDING THE BEAST.     Tax revolt.   The machine is scared right now because the wool has been pulled from many eyes.   A simple tax revolt would start the process of flushing the bilge of the muck it has accumulated.

LOng day between the J.O.B. and dealing with Da issues.   Nothing serious, just changing carriers for his phone, but he insists on a flip phone: won’t even consider a smart phone option “for reasons”,,,,  Finding one has put over a 100 miles on Buffalo and still no love.   Going the internet route,

but not tonight,,,          Tired, grumpy, and more than myself in the loop in getting things done, with a three hour time difference between us.

shit can wait till tomorrow, or even muhnday for all I care.    Da doesn’t get many calls and there are many that check in on him daily, physically, so he isn’t out of touch, perse.    (just wish he weren’t so much the luddite,,,  LOL)

I had hoped that I would be able to put the finishing touches on Selkie tonight, but time I came home, it was well after dark and that wasn’t happening (and the temps are falling fast so even if I did something, it would take more time to cure, IF AT ALL.   I have had that happen where I put on some goop in the failing temps and next day, the catalyst had soaked into the wood and that wood was covered in sticky goop that wouldn’t cure.  At least, thats how it seemed to me.   It sure wasn’t curing for whatever reason.)

Glad to hear that BCE weathered out the weather in good order,,, haven’t heard from Mike or Spud or,,,,    I figure they are probably out of power for the time being and will get back in touch as they can.   The storm had abated quite a bit by the time it hit their side of the state, and I know both have weathered far worse.   Fingers crossed that this time is no different.

Anyhooozzz,,,, its late, I’m beat, more than a tad grumpy (hatez dealing with Techy issues without having admin rights.  and then ‘people!’  ick!   very much a non-people person these days.)(for those not in the know, Introverts class beings into ‘safe friend’ and ‘people’.  So if your introverted friend tells you ‘You’re not people’, they aren’t being offensive, they are giving your a HUGE compliment.)

and it doesn’t help that I have a metal splinter in one of my finger joints and can’t wiggle it loose,,, (if you know, you KNOW.)

more tomorrow, after the light fails and I can get some focus,,, I ain’t at all focused tonight.

Mornin’ Bro Dio. Never fear, Mikee is (still) here (couldn’t resist that, sorry)! With a slight changeup – also slight apologies to Dr. Smith (if’n ya know, ya know!).

The worst off amongst us 3, was the critter – he was stuck in my lap and couldn’t get out to pee until we got a slight letup around 2am. Still raining and lotsa wind – still ~40-50ish (but now gusting) mph. Power out @ 12:15am. Too much storm to get out the gennie. Temp had dropped to the point that didn’t really need the A/C. Grandson & I both crashed on the couch (a double reclining couch). I was awake until 3am, then took the critter and hit the bed. Got a wee bit of sleep, then up at 6am.

All was still. Took the critter out again, and did a damage assessment. Looked like a target area! Barely could get through the yard for him to pee. Looked like numerous trees were in the yard – horizontal, like. Quite a bit from my Magnolia, but a shit-ton from ALL the neighbors trees – ‘specially the next door neighbors Camphor trees! Not enuff light to see the roof – much nervousness there! A guess would be AT LEAST 100mph wind. Raining so hard that it wuz horizontal, and being beat into a mist by the wind.

As soon as there wuz any light, I went out – and it wuz a lot worse than it looked earlier. City park (undeveloped, thankfully) across the street, covers the whole block, wuz ~1/2-3/4 UNDER water (not just standing water, but submerged), street had a double river running down it – almost over the crown. Good news wuz that Casa Mikee won another round! Bad news wuz a nearby neighbor’s house is completely trashed. 1 Oak tree ~60ft wuz ripped outta the ground, roots and all, and crashed over her back fence. 1 other Oak – also about 60ft – had a huge limb (~1/3 of the tree) snapped off, and crashed onto the house. Massive damage to every room in the house.

Gennie up, and shazaam! – no worries about the fridge or deep freeze. Wuz balls to the wall for us both to get the yard cleaned up (AFTER I checked on the nearby neighbors) enuff to walk through without tripping over sumpin – took until ~2:30pm. Nowhere near done, but the rest will wait until Mikee can actually get around without being stooped over like a 90 year old dood. Sore as hell, even this mornin’! Gonna continue cleanup today – as much as my back and legs will allow, anyway.

Sometime between 3am and 6am, the cell tower went down. So, ~3pm, tower came back up. ~4pm juice came back up. ~5:30-6pm, internet wuz back. I wuz so wasted that I hit the sack at 9:30pm, and for the 1st time in – don’t really know how many years – slept straight through until 5:30am today. Still sore, and gonna be moreso by tonight. Dad always said if’n yer gonna be dumb, ya gotta be tough! Dam if’n he weren’t right!

Y’all take care (4 L’s – be back to the loading in a couple dayz),

i swear , the gals on channel 13 sure nuff know their shit and forecasting. They hit it right on the nail . Said all day before the storm came in that it was going to come in a bit north of Tampa.

Then would hit all that cold air from the front coming down from up north. Explained that was what turned it into Floriduh instead of tracking north like Helene did. We were very fortunate for all that cold dry air . Turned what came in as a three , into a very solid one.

Luckily the eye wall was about twenty miles north of us. So it only dumped six inches of rain . Us being on the south side .Only fifty miles north saw up to twenty inches . Wind was steady forty to fifty with gusts to eighty.

Lost power at 1am , was off for during near two days. No worries however. Pre rigged the little Yamaha 1600 out in my shop with a cord snaked into the house . I was an evil bastid. I’ve had a rat living in one of my roll away tool boxes. Couldn’t ever catch the little sucker. So I didn’t open a window and closed the shop door for the first hour I ran the gennie. Guaran damn tee I got a dead rat somewhere in my shop now heh heh.

no surprise on either Helene vs Milton . The science was there to explain fully the how’s and whys. Both proved that if you ignore those crying wolf…you will pay a heavy price. Science tends to be a lot closer to reality than any political hack does. Like I said those local weather girls on 13 got it almost 100% right.

This storm broke all kinds of records, especially tornado wise. Hoo buddy there were a ton of screamers come past…

    • Saw those tornadoes. Thought that was an interesting spin (no pun intended) for hurricanes. Dont know personally, only been in one and that was while on Parris Island in 89..
Glad to hear you weathered the weather well.

Said it before, the only way to turn off the tax siphon is a general strike, AKA, Solidarnosc; Solidarity. If even 50% of this country stayed home for a month…
