Prolly doesn’t help that it was total crap weather with lots of rain, but no increase in water levels in the creeks I would want to play in. 😿😿😿
Kittehs are havimg a blast though. I have Ghostboat on the porch since I was working on that sticky rudder problem (rudder blade installed backwards and the cams were binding) Grizz figured out that there is space in that big thing and is bouncing around inside the cockpit. Zooms is chasing the sound on the outside. And Mama is watching over all of it. My Uncles mutt came for a visit, but Mama ran him off with a quickness and the poor dawg was scared to death of that striped devil on his tail. She ran him clear over the property line.
Even with the entertainment provided bu kittens learning to be cats, I’m wishing I were still at the lake. I’m fair certain a week wouldn’t be enough. I really need to find some way to make kayaking pay,,,

We talked a little about that out at the lake. I do understand that certain people, that do make a living in the sport, literally live kayaking; whether thats white water or freestyle, or expedition stuff. That is all they do, day in day out. Wake up send the kids to school and hit the pool for practice or the river in the backyard with slalom poles strung up to practice. I know first hand that the ‘show’ is not just that person, but a crew as well. Safety people, camera crew, researchers looking for that next wild river or waterfall or what have you,,,
So yeah, I know I likely wont be pursuing that line of stuff. I’m 52 so IF I pursue anything it will likely be something requiring endurance over mad skills. Most likely NOT a cross Pacific journey to Hawaii from San Fran . (And even he has a support network,,,)
Maybe a long jaunt down the Ohio from three rivers to the Mississippi,,,
I’m pipe dreaming here, just bear with me. Its a reaction to returning to the doldrums after a sweet weekend away with friends. The water calls and the siren song is very strong,,,

But its hard to do those things when I have fourfeets at home,,, my daughter has flown my nest, but my nest is not empty,,, and in some ways, my littles are even more dependent on me. I wasn’t concerned with a couple days since Mamakat decided Grizz n Zooms were “hers”. I knew she would keep them out of trouble and there was plenty of food and water available.
Long term adventures are a different nature though.
Does that sound like me making excuses?
Probably.
Fact is, my littles are as important to me as kayaking is and I will NEVER abandon my ‘kids’, as some might.
I dunno. Maybe the weather is hitting me harder than usual, but yeah, I definitley has a case of the blahs returning to ‘The Routine’🥴. Thanks for letting me vent.
