Kitteh files: day 20sumpin

Back from mini-vaca. Did most of my errands and what not while returning so I didn’t have to double back. An hiur and half trip took three due to that.

Get back to house, drop kayaks onto trailer racks so I’m not lugging all three around through the week. Grab stuff to go into house and do so.

And see Mamakat sprawled on bed with Grizz2 firmly attached to a teat, and the pair of ’em making a happy buzzy purr concerto and looking mighty pleased with themselves. Mamakat has the half-lidded eyes of pure bliss. Zooms is close by, passed out to the world, but in such a position he was likely there too. (I highly doubt she is lactating, but that means little when the kids are the age they are. Its the actions that count in this case.)

Maybe now, when the boys need it, Mamakat can ween them properly and we can dispel that psych-issue.

What was hate n hell a week ago has become ‘happy kitteh pride’.

She still won’t let them on the porch at night. She won’t let them off the porch during daylight right now either. She really really really likes being Mama, and she’s damned good at it.

More later today

  1. Awww. When I found Sissy, she was a young mother who was abandoned and lost three of her babies to a cruel world. I took her in and a week later, two babies, probably eight weeks old appeared at my doorstep. Sissy became their new mother and guardian. They helped each other heal from the emotional scars of abandonment and are happy healthy kitties. I’ve heard that our treatment in “heaven” will be determined by our treatment of cats. Have a wonderful day. OG

    1. Mamakat is a drop off. Her and sibs were abandoned near the railroad at around 4 weeks old. Mama was the only survivor, but we did try. Her mental state as a mommy cat is 180° of her attitude w/o kittens. When Grizzy died last year, her depression was palpable and attitude absolutely hateful. (Which is why her alternate name is Grumpy Kat)
She and the babbies are in bliss right now.
