Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Heartwarming and depressing.

Too dark for pics, so ya just gotta trust me.

Mamakat, as mentioned in my earlier post has been grumpykat the last couple three weeks since Grizzy passed on. She usually is the roamer, but since he died, she has been sticking very close to home. Enough so that even my Dad made comment.

Tonight she is hanging out in the yard, very very interested in something. I figured she had trapped a field mouse or something and was doing the usual “torture it till it stops; lose interest” cat game.

Nope.

I watched for awhile (don’t say how cruel it is, I have a cat because there is no better mousetrap, and when you essentially live in the woods, the mice think “su casa, mi casa”. 🤬) but her actions seemed ‘off’ : grab flashlight, investgate…

Baby rabbit. Cuddled up between her front paws and she’s giving it a thorough ‘kitten bath’.

I may have inadvertantly adopted a wild rabbit. She isn’t hurting it, it does not appear distressed in anyway (more like, half asleep content) Her mothering instincts are on eleven right now and she really misses her boy.

Not real sure how to handle this, so I figure to set back and watch how this proceeds.

Wow.

Late update: A shortlived thunderstorm blew in an hour later. First boom! Cat and rabbit split and ran for respective cover. Hopefully mama-rabbit won’t reject her offspring (the little-un may smell different now after katbath.)
