I milled a couple of flats on the pieces intended to weld. Made fitup easier for certain, dunno if thats a benefit to strength or not. The welds were (mostly) smooth for all that. Little Honda Genny does NOT like running my welder so there were some birdshit spots in the weld. (where the genny shut off for overload protection.) Won’t be doing anymore heavy stuff with Honda running my machine. Welds tubing alright, even if it complains about it. Still, no need to abuse the poor girl. I’ll move the welder to Unks Place since I am paying for shore power there.
You can start to get an idea of what I meant by “U-joint” fitting in the last two pics. The main support arm for the array will go through the vertical pipe (with an adjustment/locking sleeve) and the whole will pivot with the rotation of the earth on that axis. The smaller joint is for latitude adjustment as there is quite a bit of difference between summer/winter angles. 25-45 is what Claude and I figured out from my current location on the planets face. That would obviously change with latitude of your location. (say Alaska, You’d likely have the things nearly straight up and down, facing due south, in the winter.)
As for the Da,,, LOL Lets just say, The man was full of POO and leave it at that. Only no, I can’t just leave it at that. The man is a goofball. I swear, he will have every woman he meets in thrall with a quickness. The flirting going on between him and the nurse escorting him out of the hospital was “Yah, thats my Da!”. Just like that time I went to get him from the airport back in 2001,,,
So, in obvious terms, the Colonoscopy went without a hitch (I knew I was just being paranoid, but hindbrain has no sense of logic or proportion.) and what they found was “Nothing important” IE, he was full of shit! I coulda told them that!!! ROFLMAO. The prep cleaned him out good and he was feeling damned good when I picked him up; easily 200% better than when I took him in. Took about two hours and we were back at his house by 0930. Wasn’t even complaining about being hungry even though he hadn’t ate a thing since monday eve. He DID wanna stop and get breaky at Micky D’s (blech!) so we did. He was smart about it too. Wait to eat till he was home and near a head ‘just in case’ . Some of that prep stuff might be lingering in the system and it tends to violent purges: if you know, you know.
Back to the J.O.B. tomorrow, one day left of the work week. I’m starting to think this four day work week is gonna fail in a big way. Hearing MAD complaints from the other Emps, and the other crew lead will NOT work past an 8 hour day, period, end discussion. Thats where the complaints are coming from. Can’t make a forty week when you only get four 8 hour days. Already heard two mention they are taking the freedays to put in applications ‘everywhere with a sign’; not happy monkeys. BUT,,, Not my circus not my monkeys. I am doing OK with the four day week as it does give me a day to do things of the legal needs without needing to take time off. Da’s docs haven’t got the memo though, hence my day off today. (and fortunately, this week is one of the easy ones for the billing things, so I won’t get squeezed, much,,,) My biggest issue is a non-issue actually. Too much time on my hands on the weekends and still no set way of hauling kayaks anywhere. I guess I need to put that ball into my court and deal with it asap.
And I still need a deadhead Burnout to give me a hand moving a Buffalo around. Go figure, eh? I’ll nail his feet to the floor one afternoon and get it done. (this is the “make the time to replace engine and not worry about kayaking” or “Worry about kayaking and let the Buff sit till spring” balancing act. ) With how long its been since I had a boat under my bum, me thinks BUffalo should take precedence. Get the stuff out of the way.
anygubberbubzies, its mid afternoon, still has stuff to do (maybe even go snag a Burnout since he should be home now, and no GF or kids to distract him currently) and the days ARE getting shorter.
