With my eyes to a horizon,,
Yes, I lifted my head out of my little world under my rock to get a whiff of the prevailing winds.
It still stinks out here,,,
In civilized regions of the country, the police are virtually
unnecessary. But, in the Democrat run urban shitholes, where the
agitators are screeching for defunding the police, cops are the only
thing keeping those cities from becoming a living hell. RTWT
I think what chaffs me the most is how all of this shit, literally sucks my motivation levels down. Its not just the riots or coronaphobia, or Covidiocy(and the two have a distinctive difference. One is pure fear driven, the other is a statist stance. I can appreciate(maybe not quite understand it but,,,) the first, but the second makes me angry as hell.)
It is not the flailing and manipulated economy that is doing it.
Its not the Potemkin village show being paraded as major election cycle that is doing it.
It IS completely the “Sailing over the edge into oblivion” feeling I get when I try to peer forward and adjust my course in the world. Nothing out there appears solid anymore. Real estate for example. What happens to property you own when suddenly the land your property inhabits becomes that of another nation, and one that may be pure communist? Do you walk away? Fight for it? (With an astronomical good chance of death?)
No, making plans at this point is purely preparatory, and hope me and mine make it through to the otherside so we have a chance of rebuilding ‘something’.
I try to keep this thought close to my core thinking. TPTwB are in high gear and what we see is not the plan, but the means. The plan, while not 100% clear to those of us watching, is clear enough to send warning, and while we speak out, try to warn, educate, whatever, we know in our heart of hearts, SHIT IS GONNA GET A TON WORSE.
and we may never get to see ‘better’.

I know my fizzled motivation is EXACTLY the intended response desired by said dialect. Keep the population off center, keep ’em at each others throats, don’t look behind the Curtain,,,,
So I published a piece of fiction with intent to help edu’tain some small number of people, and am starting its sequel (the first is a cliff hanger,,)
I kayak to remember that what people DO, is not a reflection of the world around us, and the world around us is still very very beautiful.

And when I return home of the evening, pause, feed Mama-cita and Voo, double check defense stuff, and get back to,,,,

There will not be a division of the country. It is much too homogeneous to be parsed up like CW 1 was.
This one will be somewhat like the Balkins.
The only winners , will be the 1%.
Best case scenario , a harmongous CME knocks out the grid and thus eliminates the excess population. Which incidentally is the real cause for our current problems.
Reality gets to be a bitch , when the whole world fucks its way to using up all the cheap energy…
Now we gonna fight over the dregs.
Thinking it’s about politics , religion and culture…it ain’t.
Family is getting too big and the pantry is low.

Malthus and others all espouse that ideal. Malthus swore the event would happen 150 years ago.
We’re still here.
Ridley approaches things from a different angle of trade/exchange/optimism and paints a different picture.
‘Excess population ‘ is still a calling cry in the halls of power as can be seen in various warplayed scenarios with intent to reduce world population to nearly stone-age levels.
The problem then is, who does the work to gather the remaining resources. It wont be the remaining population because they will be reduced to subsistence level, scratching out a meager existence because there wont be ability to gain an excess that would free up time through the exchange process.
Won’t say which I think is right because I read both (and others) and I see validity in both. But Matt Ridley’s theory of innovation and exchange carries a lot more weight for me than the Malthusian Doom program.
As for the homogenous nature of this country, you’re correct. It will , IMO , break up into rural/metropolitan divisions but the metropolitan areas are unsustainable without the outlying suburbs and infrastrusture. What happens when the cities implode and those from within spill out in search of anything and everything? Me thinks there will be sections of country that resemble a mad max movie where its a no mans land for years.
