Interlude
Spent some hours on the water today, slow cruising, sprints, just sitting catching the breezes and solitude. One sole rodcaster on the bank near put in but nary a soul anywhere else. Good time to reflect, catch up with myself, and the world in some ways.
Some of why I am posting strictly about silly shit like building kayaks, building skills (ok, maybe not so silly but,,,) etc is, well,,,
Apathy.
I’m sick of it, I’m sick of hearing about it, and I am just biding my time until,,,
Well, just read this and you’ll see. The article, the comments, all of it. When does the shoe drop? What spark ignites the open powder keg these fools have been kicking around for the last 18 years? (longer really, but its been accelerating)
When do people step off the porch and put a barrel in some asshats face?
I dunno, and really, getting to be a bit long in tooth while waiting. Hence, the apathy.
Hence, kayaks!
Getting in a shape I haven’t seen in a few years. Starting to see muscle tone in the upper body again; especially shoulders, traps, and pecs. Getting some endurance back as well. Last weeks race proved that to me.
And all because I asked my uncle a silly question. LOL. That really opened up a can of worms, and a damned fun one at that. Knowledge, skills, exercise, and fun; whats not to like. (Unless your a regular reader and me acting OCD is boring the piss outta ya. )
Just biding my time and trying to live a little at the same time.
Anywhoos, I have more to show on the yak I am working on. I mentioned some of it in comments to Spud in the last post. I’ll post that up tomorrow though when I actually have a signal I can work with.

It seems this “Me too” movement has real possibilities of kicking it off IMO.
We might do well to pay attention to what women are saying. You know that old saying…if mama ain’t happy… ain’t nobody happy !
I cheered when the Golden Golem appointed Gorsuch to replace Scalia. Balance being important in our SCOTUS.
However to nominate another obviously far right judge is not good for the health of our nation. A six – three court will certainly rile the blue Smurfs to revolt me thinks…

I know I am not as long in tooth as some, but like all of us, I ain’t gettin no younger either. The SCOTUS thing may so it, but I think a republican sweep this November would do the same thing. The dems act like they have it in the bag, but people are acting otherwise: most people I meet are sick of the shit. I have only met one alternative gender person, and I got the impression they were only playing the game for attention. (Granted, I steered clear of ’em more to keep the peace, so my impression may be biased, but I don’t think so.)
The comments with that article are probably more enlightening than the article itself. Last I looked there was 3 pages of ’em, and most all of them are lucid and well written. One I thought may have been a troll, trying to shift the topic, but,,,
One point was dead on target though. There is a movement to eliminate or denigrate any with a conservative viewpoint. Alex Jones being targeted by FB, paypal and the like. Cody Wilsons’ questionable arrest for underage hooker and the timing of such after making the courts look foolish. The fact that Verizon and AT&T block Zerogov from mobile data access. Its all little shit, but little shit piles up into a heap that shows serious intent. And those are just some of the more recent ones that I can call to mind.
I just wonder how much more before we hit critucal mass. When we do, everybody loses, and thats the part I know they don’t understand. There will be no winner this time.

I also meant to mention that a couple of gay acquaintances I know think this whole alternative gender thing is BS as well. It is, we know it is, and why we have allowed it to play along I just do not understand. When I was a kid, the brat having a tantrum got ita butt whacked, not coddled and encouraged. And thats where we are, the brats have the keys and are trying to drive to “perfect country ” but destination doesn’t exist. By the time the responsible ones will get the keys back and the car turned around, that car is gonna be a destroyed wreck, and thats if we are lucky. I reckon it will more resemble a flaming pile of trash.
