Airborn axioms

Take-off is optional, landing is mandatory.
Flying:6 hours of sheer boredom followed by 6 minutes of sheer panic.
Double check your double check then do the idiots check, just in case.(and if you dont do the last you are the idiot.)
Know your controls, know your instruments, and fix either before it becomes “THE” problem.
Failures don’t just happen, they cascade.

And last but not least ,

Every aircraft comes with an expiration date, don’t get too attached to it, or be in it when it arrives.

Oops, steep learning curve eh ? Repairable I assume though ?

  Not repairable. Snapped the spars on both wings and snapped the one off, damaged both wing root and a section of the fusilage. Stripped it of parts and gave it the flaming death it wished for. But yeah, steep learning curve. And other than the wasted time, that I would have wasted in other ways if not, loving this new “school”.

Oh yeah Spud, the ‘target’ was quite a bit bigger than a tree. This was a take off getting quite fudged, and at speed no less. Balsa is good, but not THAT good.

Kinda looks like most of 2016 went for me…sure hoping for more productive and forgiving 2017, bar not set too high….enjoying your fiction tales thus far…IMA so anxious for the 20th to be here and done….me thinks, Depends stock will be a good buy real soon,lol…

  Sadly, the plane and my truck gave me a bad start to the year. Dropped the pinion bearing on the diff midday Jan 1, and the plane went cartwheeling later the next day.
  Agreed though, only a more days, but I hadnt thought about depends stock, the diaper pins are gonna need em.
