THAT, Ladies and Gentlmen, is what remains of my wallet after it faced off with my lawnmower.
No cards; debit or credit, nor ID. ALL cut to ribbons. I couldn’t find the DL at all (not a real issue, as I just renewed last week and have new already enroute.)
But
I’m cashless right now. Literally cashless, as all of my income was just deposited this morning and my only access is through that debit card that you can kinda sorta see (greenish yellow) in the upper left.
If I needed proof that my lawn mower had mulching blades, I don’t need any further proof now.
Yet another life lesson: don’t take your wallet out mowing.
I’m all ready for that beer now,,,,
LLLLL!!!

update: did find the DL, much further away in the driveway. not much left, but enough to give a damned good excuse to a cop as to why I don’t have it, IF I were to be pulled over or something.
well shit!!! That’ll be a short term problem. Fortunately you can use this to hone multiple licks. Resiliency, fall back positions, contingency plans and attitude in the face of adversity. Personally I think its at least a two beer problem, maybe three. But that’s just me.
At least the mower survived. And it wasn’t your phone so there’s that. And it’s the weekend so that’s another plus.

ROFL I was riding that mower and thought to myself “thats a funny looking leaf” and by the time I realized what I had seen, INSTANT CONFETTI. While I was trying to peice together all the little bits and peices (amazingly, the $17 cash I had just blew all over with no scratches or tears!) I was thinking “at least it wasn’t the phone” I don’t carry my phone when mowing (couldn’t hear it anyway, why bother) but the point was there.
Yeah, 3 beers and a shot.
Already ordered all the new cards. Paid a little extra to expedite the Debit card (2-3 business days) and let the rest slow walk to me. I won’t need any of them in the fashion I need that debit card.

Can’t you just go in person to your bank to withdraw money?

My bank is out of state, 3 hours away, no local branch.

I really hate when the realization hits a split second too late. One time I went on a job interview and as I was turning my truck off, I realized that my keys WERE NOT in the worn out ignition cylinder. I just couldn’t react quick enough to not be stranded at an interview.
I’d rather miss by a mile than “Oooh… missed it by that much!”

The missing keys thing doesn’t sound horrible, but Im betting this was pre-cellphone days, when something like that meant more than a call and a wait.
Yah, that split second wouldn’t have happened with a pushmower: that rider requires faster reflexes.
