Sorry, just no concern on my part if Europe implodes or not. Heck, they NEED to implode and do something about that problem they have acquired over the last decade or so. Mehbe even get the retards that think they run the show over there strung up as examples of why Europe was once a powerhouse of the world. (and in no small part, what I picked up from the short excursion was “Fear Factor Build Up”,, not reality.)
But I can do nothing for them, and thinking about it 24/7 is not conducive to good health for little ol’Dio. Thinking about our problems is bad enough.
But I’ve set those aside the last couple of weeks, as well.
All of this project work is doing much more for my little world than wringin’ hands over shit I have no say in.
Sure, Vote! And I will, but my heart ain’t in it anymore. I’ve seen the messes that were supposed to be getting corrected, either flat out ignored, or shit on by those that should be doing something. OR things like the last few months of Old McConnel Turtle boy. So much unanswered there and yet those that SHOULD have the power to do something, did absolutely nothing, and gaslighted the world about it.
Fuggem. I have electrons to push through wires and a controller to install. Yup, it came in today,,, Quick test worked great, but too much load and popped a fuse. I have a solution I’m working on. Just a pair of 5pin automotive relays with a set of diodes for polarity and blocking. Essentially turning the pair into a remote controlled DPDT reversing switch, just like I already have set up for manual operations.
Gonna set up a bench test of it before I go mounting things. Have a hefty 14 DC motor from another actuator to test load up. (That thing is a frellin BEAST. 12v 14a 390rpm. Has a triple planetary gearbox, with steel gears, not plastic, bolted on the output shaft that outputs apx 25rpm when running. Hanging on to it because something like that may find its way into a different project later.) (like the drive motor for a robotic lawnmower ROFLMAO)
No love from the Mac tonight, and being honest, don’t care tonight. Gonna contact the guy I bought it from and see if he has a backup drive (thumbdrive or such, no discs) that I could use/purchase. The backup I made is useless in this instance as the recovery mode isn’t recognizing any of the USB ports. (wants to use firewire or network mode) She ain’t ded yet, but she sure is a hefty paperweight for now.
I really screwed the pooch on this one. Beware the happy clicker. Problem in Chair, and now in computer, >roll eyes< sigh!
and that slows my educational efforts down. The reason I was downloading stuff was for the interface to the Arduino board that is part of the package I purchased. Yeah, Coding! Been a decade since I last coded anything and that was HTML, not C++. Thats not a learning curve, thats a complete re-vamp. Butzzzz, Dio wants to learn this newfangled shit so He knows how to get around it when he can. (and full disclosure,,, I may have to bust out the linux machine again: read somewhere today, that the Arduino IDE and Macs are not simpatico. Dunno, but sure looks like there may be evidence of that in my paperwieght.)
Is what it is, will be what it will be. At least this time around, I do have backups standing by. Most of my writing is backed up in personal emails to myself (you do run multiple email accounts, right?) Poor mans cloud storage in a sense. So what if they have access to that stuff, its time and date stamped, so if I find something plagerized, I have evidence (poor mans copyright sort of thing. Used to do that with music too. Make a tape of your masterpiece, and mail a copy to yourself for the ‘official’ datestamp.) Most of the other stuff on that drive is applications/programs and those are able to be recovered in download. I have the licensing info for the paid programs (that email thing,,,) so no loss there.
Just a pain in the ass. and why I am NOT dealing with it tonight.
