We went from 90 degree scorcher to 68 wet and chill, in less than 3 days. The cycles have started towards the deeper chills of winter and my least favorite time of year, when the leaves turn and the world goes grey. It’s chilly out, pissin’ down rain, and rumbles above. Kittehs n pupper are in comfy spots, either knocked out cold or glaring at the rain as if it were a mortal enemy. (and of course, its all the silly hoomans fault: I’m supposed to be able to control the weather. I mean, they know I turn on the rain in the house everyday: of course its my fault that I turned on the rain outside. Fix it hooman!!!)
Got better sleep (as in Some.) last night. A full four hour interlude at one point before the hydraulics forced me upright for a short visit to the head. Need to get back to cutting the caffeine around 7 or 8. I definitely sleep better, longer.
Still no water at the trailer. Some’uns are getting a phone call early on tomorrow. I even went to the meter down the hill and checked and knew there was no way anyone had been there. It was coverd in grass clippings. Da mowed mid-week last week, so no one had touched that meter since. I’m sure when I make the call tomorrow, there will be piled up excuses and attempts to tell me its my fault somehow. I could turn the water on myself, but seeing how they are supposed to get a baseline reading from the meter before turn on, I would rather not encourage some backlash crap from an already stinky service.
but back to the original subject matter. Me thinks, just based on weather through the years so far, that this winter is going to be a nasty one. Its due considering the 11 year solar cycle. I’m no expert, but the solar cycle this year was one, that even those that do study such, were saying was quite strange. Odd holes in the appearing on the suns surface, clusters of sunspots with odd lifecycles. And there were times this year, working out in the sun, where the sunlight felt just flat mean.
On the more rural legend side of things, the Sycamore are already turning. A full month early. The sycamore are the first to green and the first to turn, and they are already shedding fast. No other trees are showing signs of that just yet (well, maybe the dogwoods are,,, but only some.) Strange springs that didn’t align correctly, a long hot and wet summer, NO HURRICANES this year (so far), hmmm. I dunno, I just watch and learn. Mama Nature does as she will, and us little lice like creatures scurrying on the face of this planet take our cues as best we can.
I’d really like that water turned on so I can wash these comforters. Thats the cue I am taking from this. Heck, I’m tappin’ this out wearing a sweatshirt for the first time since May. And I need to be getting wood lined up in the shed. Gots a bit to put away yet, but need to split it first. Wouldn’t be adverse to another full white or red oak to stuff in there either.
I’ll have more up tomorrow. end of week for me, payday on Freeday morn. Will have been one full week since I paid for the water service, and if its still not on by tomorrow evening, I will be sitting at that office door Freeday mornin’; You betcha!
