I have the shelving up along the back wall of the building now. Had to clear off the stuff at Da’s, then break it down and relocate it here. And of course, adjust for walls and ceilings that don’t make right angles. (Barn styled roof)

Thats there,,, Ready,,, Waiting,,,

I ain’t. Decided that I want to make things a bit simpler in the moving phase and that means making my drive so I can get through it. Buffalo is sitting smack dab in the way. And so is an engine on a stand. Needs to move both, AND, I need to get Buffalo fired up, refueled and at least nominally road ready again.

She bit back today. REFUSED to fire over. Pulled Bloo into the yard to get at her front to jumpstart her (still acting wonky, seems a fuel issue might be in order) (I really need to get a jump-box for times like this where lining up for a cable jump is a problem)

And it started raining. Bloo got stuck BAD,,, Had to go get Unk to help pull her ginormous butt out of the yard. (just needed an assist, but not being 4×4, she don’t do wet, grassy and muddy hills very well.)

She is free now, but Buffalo is still sitting in exactly the wrong spot and a loaded engine stand still needs relocated, and I’m sitting here comtemplating,,, No problems, just unseen solutions, and right now I ain’t seein’ the solution short of pulling things around with a strap and Bloo. (and would need someone to assist there. Burnout Up?)

Gonna make a quick trip to town for stuff and get some starting fluid while there. At least isolate the problem (short of knowing that battery has taken a hit and needs recharged.) And its only Satyrday,,, wet and icky, but Satyrday.

I’ll get this,,,

More laters

  1. Mikee can attest to the handiness of those jump boxes! A wonderful creation they are.

Hel, The Buff is probably just pissed at ya fer leaving her basically parked like ya have! She’ll get over it.

Best o’ luck to ya with everthing!

  2. I’d try laying a gasoline soaked rag on the air filter first. I’ve seen starting fluid cause too many problems. I had a service truck driver blow a plastic manifold apart on a car with a skipped timing belt. Turned it into shrapnel! I cracked a plastic manifold with the stuff. And other stuff catch fire. And the horseplay! Eventually I wound up telling all the drivers that if I caught them using it or carrying it on a call I’d write them up and fire them the second time. Scary stuff if it’s mishandled. I use it very sparingly on my old diesel Ford tractor, but only if it says “I ain’t doing it today”

YMMV and yeah Buff may have a jealousy thing going on. They do that. I had to fly out for a funeral and I told my wife to start my old Toyota every day and run it for fifteen minutes because the battery was weak. It started the first day and not after that. A week and a half later I got back and it shouldn’t have started. Two or three slow grinding revolutions and she popped off. My wife grew to hate that truck. Jacked up 4×4 with bars and lights and two bucket seats. It was a single man’s truck. Her and my new wife didn’t get along!
