Just some thoughts bouncin’round the cranium (not a lot in there to hold them back) about Modern Poly_ticks and the power structures of old.
This purt much sums up the dircetion my thoughts have been zoomin’ in.
When was the last time a ‘Leader’ led his people onto the feilds of contention (IE battles)?
There are a few examples of such in our history. George Washington, A couple of Generals from WW2 (world war eleven LOL.) that became ‘Leaders’ in Polyticks after the fact.
Been a minute, ain’t it? I certainly can’t see King Charles leading troops into battle. or Trump for that matter. Certainly is a lot of “Leading from the rear”,,,
Maybe there will come a future where those that want to actually lead “Go first” and show us what the hell its all about.
I ain’t holdin’ my breath that it will be in my lifetime.

John Keegan writes about military bosses leading from the front in “The Face of Battle”. Been a few years since I last re-read it, and the thing that I remember is that the most successful generals in WWI and WWI were the ones who purposely went to the sharp end on occasion. Seems that the troops understand that the boss has to be back where he can plan without having to duck all the time, but that being up with them at least once in a while gives the general enough ‘credit’ that they will fight hard instead of just going through the motions.
Not sure if any modern leader, political or military, follows this.

What we have now is a parasite class, getting rich through graft and of no substance or spine.
