NOT my day,,,

Other than Da’s truck, which was pretty much ‘run of the mill’ shade-tree stuff (more complicated than a 68 sumpin-or-nudder, but still straight forward) I haven’t had ANY luck with handiwork today.

Started laminating up a blank for my paddle mod I plan (cutting back the blades of the carbon fiber and glassing in new,,) and that went to hell in a handbasket quite quickly. Wood warped to hell and back as it sucked up the moisture in the glue and no clamps would ‘get it right’,,, The stuff was WAY too dry to be working with, and it took all of the glue I had on hand and still failed. Set it down, try again later (and the remaining wood is on my porch near the edge to pick up some ambient moisture in the meantime)

started a couple of other things and those went sideways with a quickness too. I condidered pulling Lyssa into drydock to touch up some of that gelcoat on her deck (couple of thin spots in places, one spider crack that needs attention, nothing pressing since its not leaking there) but with the way my things have been going today, I could totally see me putting that dremel right through her deck and creating a bigger problem.

So,,, tonight is sit back, relax, have a drink to smoke my mind for a short time. what I want is what I’ve not got, and what I need is all around me. time to do the Jimi Thang, pour a bourbon and turn up the tunes and prep my head for going back to the J.O.B. in the AY-M,,,,

praying that the ‘morrow brings better vibes that aren’t affliliated with Murphy, but then, the morrow IS muhnday,,,,
