try it again,,, later,,,,
Somedays,,,,
Actually, I am laughing at myself today. Its been a comedy of errors today.,, one after another, and not all mine.
started off the day posting up, that worked fine,
then loaded up Lizzy on the Buffalo and suddenly felt like doing home-body stuff. A little cleaning, a little kicking Dawgum out so I can REALLY clean up after stinky muttmutt,,, Ok, two out of three so far; seeing how I was gonna go get Lizzy wet ,,,
Stopped over at Da’s, he wasn’t in, so I headed to the PO for mail call, and saw him on the river doing some fishing. 4 hours, not bite one,,, He is even having an off day (and to make up for it, he pulled out his chainsaw and started cutting up some riverwashed strainers loose. Old sycamores that still have rootballs attached but are half in the water, filtering all the gunk floating downstream.
2 pm rolled around, and I decided it was bread making day.
4:30, I’m frying pan bread since 1)my yeast was old OR 2) that salt I forgot to add is much more important that I realized,,, That dough absolutely refused to rise,,, Live and learn right?
the pan bread (flat bread in some places) is fine, and not as chewy as I was expecting, and Voo downright begged for the first one that was mucked up. He loves that stuff and I probably shouldn’t feed it too him, but hell, he’s older than me (in dawg years) and deserves some treats. (and I fried them in olive oil, so maybe that will get into his system and help that itchy dry skin thing he is struggling with.)
The weekend isn’t over yet, but I think lazin’bout the homestead is in the cards the rest of the day,,, piddle with this’n’that and not push this ‘off day’ too hard.
I think its time for a drink and chill to some tunes on the porch until its too cold to sit out.

I found when Abby was having the dry skin itches that adding coconut oil to her food and even smearing some on her itchy spots did the trick. A vet clued me in on that and it really did work. Just a little FYI.
It’s getting cold here in the evenings but this damn nor’wester is pushing our way all the way to SC and even into GA. Yuck. I have to cover my plants at night to keep the frost from them. WTF? I moved south to get away from this stuff.

You and me both. The older I get, the bones can’t take the cold. As kids we didn’t care, we actually enjoyed the cold and snow. Plus it meant days off of school. Hahaha. But when my bones ache and hot baths are the only way to warm my core, it’s time to move south. But damned if it’s followed me south. What a crock of s**t!!!
