But that aint what stopped me. Looks gorgeous in the pic but that pic doesn’t relate the howl of winds, nor the windchill factor,,,

That wind is what stopped me. May be, and probable, that I would have been fine: but it didn’t ‘feel’ that way, and I’ve learned to listen to gut instinct. Water was actually warmer than air temps, but 50 is still not warm,,,

Next week when I come up here for solstice, I’m bringing some extra gear for the ‘just in case’ ,,,, shelter, sleeping bag, dry bag with dry clothes and campstove with some stuff to warm and get into me: just off chance I get chilled, or wet and chilled, or capsize and soaked and near freezing. My attire will be very much ‘water immersion’ type even if Its not as cold. I WILL mitigate my risks, and todays mitigation was ‘walking away’.

    Not related to the post, but I just finished ‘Wings’. Most excellent! Story line is all too believable. Helluva cliffhanger, though!! Are ya done with the sequel yet? Huh, huh?? Dam, I hate waiting😉 Headed over to the ‘zon’ now to give it a review.

      Sorry to peave ya hanging but no, not finished with it yet. And that cliffhanger is the one ‘writer blushes in embarrassment ‘ i have with the book. I hit that point of ‘ if I dont publish NOW. It probably will never get published’ and, well, it needed published.
