gooin a bit stir crazy this week. ‘think I wanna run but I think its kinda weak,,,’

So, looking at making the forty mile trek to my usual digs where I can catch some waves. The closer spot is always glassy unless the weather is total crap and even then, not so much on wave action. Starting to think that any options I have for paddle buddies here local is quixotic, just move on and keep looking elsewhere. There might be a Seakayak group closer to Cumberland Lake, but the only indication I get of that is from two people on Fakebook, and both of them are clear over on the other side of the lake, three plus hours away. May as well drive to the group in Loo-vul and play on the Ohio river with real waves from barge traffic (EEK!!!!). (ah, but that means I would be the outlier of THAT group because I don’t play with high-end Surfskis, or $2000 drysuits and $600 wing paddles. Always the oddman out, eh? LOL)(B and T are my other options but with an active little running’bout, and a house they’re working on, not much time either. I try not to burden them with my desires.)
Guess I just gotta form my own then huh?
ROFLMAO Yeah, like i am some gregarious flutterby that gets along with everyone I meet. NOT!!! I may be eclectic in my associations, but I am very specific in my FRIENDS. And when it comes to groups, I tend to shy. (Hell Dio, you ain’t shy, you burrow under rocks faster than a honeybadger chasing an anthill). Even among friends, if the group gets larger than 3 or 4, I start going quiet. and will ‘fade’ into the background fast.
Kinda why I like kayaking; its a solo thing, even when you are in a group: one person, one boat, one paddle, and self supporting, even though we don’t suggest going solo (which I do frequently :-(. )
And people that know me swear there is NO WAY that I am an introvert. LOL. Yes I am, very much so, my open side is well guarded, and quick to be hidden. It takes serious will power to open up around strangers, and the toll is two or more days of burrowing under my rock after the fact. (and why when we are all camping, I tend to be the one up before the sun, so I have my solitude to work out the details of ‘social recharging’.) If I have opened up to you, take it as a serious compliment that I TRUST you. Not easily earned either,,,,
So, how does one be an introvert AND form a kayaking group in a location that is really NOT conducive to the sort of kayaking I prefer?
I think the question answers itself,,,, They usually do if worded properly.
Grrkkkk It’s still early, its not warm out, but its not frigid either, and I don’t wanna be stuck in the house over ANOTHER weekend like I was last weekend. (sick call, I had a good excuse, but that doesn’t mean I like it.). Maybe I need to park closer to the marina and see what falls out there.
OR, just move my ass closer to BIG WATER (thats a lot more involved though.)
