End of week, for me, three day weekend starts in 3.2.1,,,,

BCE weathered the “STORM OF THE CENTURY” quite well, other areas of Floriduh weren’t so lucky.   Don’t know what the path is looking like but Sis says that there is a chance it might do what Ike did back in 08.   I was working at the hospital at the time and lived quite close, so I didn’t have a lot of down time like some areas of Sincin did, but even I got to see the ferals come out to play when things went sideways for a spell.   Funny how a skinny white dude with a ‘Big Ugly’ strapped to his hip can cool the jets of even the plug ugliest banger.   I do miss that pistola: would like to find another one as soon as I can. She was the only 1911 gen 7 I have ever owned that would eat whatever you plugged in the mag.  Hollowpoints, no problem, Semi-wad cutters, NO problem.   I had a buddy press me out some full wadcutters (I have never seen any in ACP) just for giggles and she ran the entire magazine of them with no glitches.

And to boot, she was a Firestorm, not some top dollar Kimber race gun hand tuned by Kimber his-self.   Just an out of the box, made with pride, of the Philippine Islands. Maybe not top of the line but pull trigger go bang EVERY DAMNED TIME no matter you shoved in the pipe, and accurate as all get out with good stuff.   The wadcutters were the worst of the lot, but damn, what they did to the target made me certain they were show stoppers out to 20 yards.  Way more than enough for the ‘hood I lived in at the time. 

May have a glitch in the system with this newb that wants me to show him how to kayak.  Didn’t show up for work today, and I have NO contact info for him.  We were supposed to exchange info today, and no word on why he no-showed,,,   

Not good.   

I don’t want to entrust my carcass to a druggie when I am trying to practice rolling.   Don’t know if thats the case, I have doubts it is: I can usually spot the pillheads, meth-heads pretty quick and this guy didn’t strike me as anything other than the occasional reefer hitter.   And for a local, I don’t have to translate his speech.  Seems better educated than some of the bottom feeders the J.O.B. usually hires.  (and that has been taking an upturn lately.  Less druggies and more HS grads, and that is a VAST improvement over former years where they were hitting the parole boards for new hires,,,   Gah what a travesty that was,,,). He has my number and if he is serious, he’ll contact me.  Otherwise,,,,

BUT, that doesn’t change my plans one iota.   No assist, no problem.  I have a float bag for recovery and that will be the game if I have no ‘student’.   I figure to get some serious roll practice in, using the float, and by the time I am worn out from that, the hips SHOULD be loose enough to paddle around and get that quality seat time in Lizzy that I need.    Exercises at home are one thing, but they can NEVER replace good old fashioned paddling for conditioning.   

Why all the wording on conditioning?   Because I fully intend on winning the SKAW next year.  No second place this time.   I was so out of shape the last race that I almost fell out of the boat at the end.  My legs were shaking and I struggled to stand up.   I ended up sitting on the back deck of the boat with my legs in the water for several minutes to get the blood flow back to normal, before i pulled Selkie to shore.   I don’t want a repeat of that this year.

During the time between now and then, I will play mostly in Lizzy, and occasionally Duh!k.   I want to get a feel for which one has the edge I want.  I think they are comparable in speed, but Duh!k is seriously a straight line racer.  She steers like a fully loaded CSX train.   She will turn, but you can measure the radius of said turn in ‘football field plus’.   Even holding edge on her only ‘helps’, kinda.   I can come to a full stop and sweep the paddle with a hard edge to turn her in place, but that kind of ‘handling’ doesn’t win races.   One good thing about Duh!k, waves meant nothing to her.   She would punch clean through any wave she faced head on and would only wobble a bit on quartering waves.  Beam waves were simple once I realized ‘the trick’ (loose hips and a paddle IN the water, even if you aren’t pushing with it.). The reason for her punching waves was that chisel-point bow: sharp like a knife and it would slice into the face and through the wave into the next one.  A wet ride she is, but smooth like a 1968 Chevy Impala on the open highway.  

OK, a little poly-ticks, and then I call it a night here at the workshop.   Has anyone noticed that certain clips of Xi-den stating that ‘they’ had a solution for the Nordstrom Pipelines, have suddenly just disappeared?   Saw a couple of clips the other day, went back to re-watch or link them and the ‘video has been removed’ thing popped up.

Fuckers, we ain’t buying it anymore.   Honestly, we stopped buying it back around 2016, and the sales have gone downhill since then.   GET A CLUE that your game is failing, is about to go crunch krunk klunk!!! and then, WE get to start the clean up.

More tomorrow after I get some therapy taken care of.   Weather be damned as long as Mama doesn’t start chucking electricity around.
