Break the routine

To start doing things differently, you must break the routine you are in.   You may not feel that your routine is working against you (it probably is, especially if its so very comfortable.) and that makes breaking it that much harder.

I have a set of exercises I want to ‘add into’ my routine, but that means breaking the current one of ‘getting home and getting comfy’.   And its winter time and circadian cycle is fighting me as well.  By the time I have done all the ‘normal’ stuff that needs doing, its getting dark and my body just wants to go hibernate,,,    ‘Normal’ stuff being, make and eat dinner, feed the kids, build a fire if the temps are looking low (or are already in the basement) get a shower once the house has warmed up (I hate showering just before bed since I sometimes wake right up after a good shower, but not always,,,), and hit the webs playing catch up, or posting, or research, or all three.

Not whining, just observing that even trying to break that routine can cause issues all it’s very own.   (and subliminally at that,,,).

I have found its much easier to ‘break routine’ in small bites: Don’t try to add all of the new routine in at once.  Maybe you have an exercise program that is thirty minutes to an hour long.   Don’t try to go for thirty minutes right out of the gate.   In my case, I am adding 5 minutes of ONE exercise to the mix.   Do that for a week.   Then add another; wash rinse repeat.  Small bites.    “With Great patience and lots of saliva, the elephant was able to deflower the mosquito.”   or “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”    By the time winter rolls out, I should be up to the 45 minute mark, and starting to feel a difference in the middle regions, which is where I am focusing my efforts.   Arms and legs are in great shape from work and play, but that middle is really starting to get annoying.   (and I want to strengthen those core muscles for kayaking, especially with the race season coming back up in spring.)

I considered changing my morning routine to add the exercise, but my mornings are already crazy enough and have a serious time constraint called ‘Get to work’.   To start screwing around with that might tip the scales to an already eroded attitude about ‘working for a living’.   (Work doesn’t scare me, its working for crap wages that bothers me.)(and yes, I know, if it were that bad, I would find an alternate.  I have reasons for not, and some of you know them.)

nuff’bout me: how about them damned funny Ruskies destroying their own pipeline, eh?    Saw something about that floating around the patriot spheres and wasnt at all surprised by the voice behind it.   Names will not be mentioned as that name is verboten in my workshop.   I just find it sad that one with such a great display of language can be gulled so deeply into the narrative,,,

IMO, total bullshit.  Not saying its not possible, but I just can’t see it.   I CAN see our puppet administration attempting to escalate world tensions that way.   And that is far more plausible than Ivan dropping depth charges on a pipeline they could just shut the valve on.   (and evidence is mounting towards that last.  Circumstantial at best currently, but I don’t see any circumstantial evidence mounting that Vodkaman Bad destroyed his own revenue generator. )

And November is right around the corner,,,,   Arthur Sido said it best in this post.   RTWT

only going to add.

TINVOWOOT.

just gonna keep working at that ‘living MY life’ until the shooting starts.  (it has, it just hasn’t started going in both directions,,, yet.). And there are signs that we, those of us farther right of Lenin, ARE winning this war; we just have to keep doing what we are doing.  Stating the truth of reality, and making fun of, or flat ignoring the FRAUD.  (and in many ways, the FRAUD doubling down on Stoopid is helping us.  Yeah, things are going to get difficult, but that helps us too.  People don’t like breaking routines, and collapsing an economy, on purpose, is making EVERYBODY break routine.
