Three years is a long time between paddles and the fact that I only capsized Duh!k ONCE,,,,
Primary stability? Whusdat?!?!?
Secondary is there. But you approach it like an F18 hitting the deck on an aircraft carrier.
Shows how little I knew when I made her, and that God DOES look out for fools. Lol. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a fine boat and I am not just saying that because I built her.
What she isn’t, is a boat for the inexperianced, and thats whats blowing me away. I had exactly ONE other boat under me bum prior, and that one WAS made for newbs. Like I said, that she put me under just the once, surprises the shit out of me.

BUT,,,
She’s just as fast as I intended her to be. 5.4 mph with what in Blue Jean is a cruise stroke for 3.5 mph. Downside; that sharp V-hull that makes her so fast is also why she steers like a freight train and squirrelly at rest. Even holding a 45° edge, she tracks straight. (And yes, thats her secondary stability limit, past that, shes taking you over for a dip.) She’s meant for racing (my original intent, so success on that one) and almost nothing else. As someone else said about a different boat, ‘she races faster than she sinks’ and thats Duh!kee to a T. And when she’s up to her cruise speed shes solid as hell, the tippy feeling settles down, but she still will not turn on edge like she is supposed to. You MUST use sweeping strokes to shift direction. Looking at her on land, there is very little difference in rocker between her upright and edged profiles, and thats why she won’t turn.

Ima gonna keep her around for the races, and use the bigger heavier boats for conditioning between. She’s fugly, leaks, and will scare the hell outta ya, but then most rat-rods are in the same breed, right?
