Mad is a mental state

Mad, madness, anger, mental imbalance; only difference being the emotion, and it can all tie into a freudian knot.

Sarah delves into it a touch. Seeing more than a little here in Appalachia as well. Lots more drug incidents taking place. Several missing people over the last few that have been found recently, but not happily. One appparently just wandered off to die and ‘mission accomplished’.

Maybe I’m a little ‘touched’ with my kayaking obsession. Could be that my flight or fight reaction is kicking it and the boats are the ‘flight’ reaction. Lord knows there is no other explanation to my buying an expedition level kayak I ‘have no need for’ (other than $200 steal,,,). And yes, I have considered just loading up with gear and heading to the river without looking back.

Problem is this: where to? I’ve been in other countries, I even ‘lived’ in other countries for short spells. I have never found an alternate place I want to live than this CONUS. Even the outliers of Alaska and Hawaii are pretty cool, but its not the location so much as the ‘attitude’. People respond differently here than say, the Philippines, or Kuwait or UAE. And yes, it has a lot to do with appearances. Here, people don’t (and the elite will howl I’m a liar) react to your skin tone or dress near as much as in other places. Seriously, I can be ling bearded, a little rough around the edges and people will still ask if I am ok, or strike up a conversation, even invite me into camp for a meal in some cases. In the Phillipines. I knew I was a target for grifting or a mugging just by the fact that I was light skinned and taller than your average local. In UAE, I was an infidel for the same reasons, without ever asking me anything, and infidels are treated decidedly ‘different’. (wild understatement, dawg!!!!)

Part of what Sarah covers is that fight or flight thing. What I am seeing is that as well as what I am going to call ‘European Conditioning ‘. The whole package of wild ass shit we have experienced over the last 15 months is conditioning people into a state of distrust of everyone else!!! Granted this is just my Opinion, but its how it feels. Masked bs unmasked, vaxxed vs antivax, etc etc etc

Take it further, class vs class, color vs color, ethnic background vs ethnic background, and you start to watch the melting pot of America break up and separate into its base components.

That worries me.

And there is no where to run TO!!!

Guess that means we gotta fix it, huh?

Next question: How? Any suggestions? I has a few, but ain’t a one “nice”,,,
