My ‘broke’ has to do with something so simple, many people don’t believe me.
Eating .
I forget to eat if my routine gets fouled up. If I’m around others (because most people have no issues remembering to eat) I’m safe enough, but spend a few days all by meself, and with a scattered schedule. Whoops.
That’s what caught up to me today. Was out on the lake, (thought) I was recording speed trials, and suddenly start feeling weak limbed and shaky. Limp back to shore, shakiness getting steadily worse. Beach the boat, pop the skirt and have to roll on my side to pull myself out, I was weak as a kitten and couldn’t lift out of the cockpit like normal. Sitting on beach, foot in cockpit to keep the boat from wandering off; I’m going over what the problem could be, when my stomach growled. “Oh yeah, I forgot to eat yesterday, and skipped breakfast,,,”
I keep some snacks around for times like this (yes, its frequent enough that I plan ahead.) So forced my limbs to cooperate, pulled boat onto shore enough to keep it there, and went to truck for that ‘fix’.
An hour later, still feeling weak, but more functional; two bottles of water, a couple power bars and some chocolate and I’m no longer the newborn kitten but am not looking forward to hauling the boat uphill to the truck, let alone loading it. I refuse to drag my boats over ground, they get to ride me between truck and water. And Ghost is no lightweight,,, I did it in two stages. Up the hill to truck, rest a few while swapping out wet gear for dry, then load her up on the racks.
So, I thought I was recording the trials, but,,,, the camera has 22 seconds on it of my climbing in the cockpit and putting skirt on. Nothing else. The battery died.
But the GPS worked,,,

Max shows 6mph. Serena, pushed harder than I pushed here, will 5.7. Duh!kee will do 6.4. I wasn’t pushing as hard this time so I would imagine Ghost will match Duh!k.

Still feeling a touch of weakness, thanks to my own forgetfulness, but I’ll be back to normal in a day or two so long as I get back into routine. And remember to eat something on a regular basis.
True story: when I was doing audio, and playing with oddball Italian sportscars (Fiat X/1-9 for the record) I took a week off for an Italian Tune-up. Those not familiar with that term, it means complete teardown and rebuild. I even pulled the transmission to replace a crunchy reverse gear and a couple synchros. My SO would let me go all day since she was at work, and then once home, ignore me until it was time for sups. She’d call me up. Wait 10, call me again, wait another 10, then go to the breaker box and shut power to the garage, then head to the dinner table. I can get so focused on things that I need intervention for the most basic things like eating. In her words “I’m intense” (maybe too intense since we are no longer together,, )
I don’t blame her, I get my periods of acute OCD and hit tunnel vision in focus: all else takes a backseat to the goal.
We all have something in our lives that is less than desirable to the bigger picture, mine just happens to be intensity at risk of starving myself.
I can totally see Amy doing that… 😂Presuming that’s whom you’re speaking of?
