Welcome to my brain. It’s messy. It’s interesting. And it’s all connected if you stick around long enough. "Believe Nothing: no matter who said it, even if I have said it, except it agree with your own reason and common sense. Siddhartha Guatamo, the Buddha.

Facts or fictions

There is a psychological point called cognitive dissonance
Simply put, when a persons beliefs are shown to be faulty or just flat wrong, the “turn it up to eleven”, refuting the facts before their very eyes.

‘The numbers are down: what we are doing has been working. Good job us!!’

Totally ignoring facts worldwide or the fact that the numbers have NEVER been what they claimed when they started the stampede.

But to admit error is the absolute hardest thing for ‘Muricans to do. They’d seemingly rather eat shit-stew than admit they made shit-stew and need to pitch it.

When confronted with the facts, they’ll twist words, ignore the news, change the subject or, as is usual, blame the person displaying logic and reason as uncaring inhuman scum.

You can’t have a battle of wits with an unarmed person and you can’t have a rational conversation with a person wrapped in delusions. (See what I did there?)

As my Grandma used to say, “a mind is like a jar of jelly; you can’t use it if its not open. ” Cognitive dissonance is sign of a shut down mind.

I was once told that a liberal is a libertarian that hadn’t been raped by the system yet.

I heard someone say similar about demoncraps and repugnicans. I no longer agree with that aspect as the two are mere factions of the same party, hiding behind names and colors.

History lesson time. Way backa when, Democrats used the color Red as a party , not blue. Republicans used blue. In the south a term still heard today, though now twisted and meaningless, was ‘He’s a blue blood Democrat’ meaning he was a Democrat with Republican leanings. The term ‘Blue money’ has history to that time as well.

All of this came to an end around Joseph Stalins time, under FDR. The Communist Democrat party wanted to shift attention away from the “Red revolution” and how their agenda mirrored those of Stalin and Lenin.

Guess what,

It worked.

Recall, they destroyed McCarthy in the history books. Called him a witch hunter and other crude names, yet history has vindicated his wrath. Given another year, he might have rewritten our future.

Well, here is one fact that both sides agree on. SElection cycle 2020 is upon us and no matter how that turns out, the die will be cast on how Americas future plays out or dies. November is the shift in velocity of what we have been seeing the last 4 months. The only question in my mind (and minds of similar pattern) is, “will it escalate from current trajectory or will it ricochet in another direction?” Note. Slowing down or stopping are not in that question. We don’t expect this nightmare to stop, not one bit.

    Aesop said…
BTW, in case after case, the Fatality Rate continues to run at right around 3%, just as we guesstimated based on average coronavirus mortality at the outset.
    3% of 330M is…? Anyone? Beuller?

That would require 100% societal penetration though.
Despite earlier bogus “studies” with flaws big enough to drive a pandemic through, my suspicion, when we hit 100,000 deaths, was that this thing had probably only penetrated a miniscule fraction of society. NOT the farcical 25% being touted by the lab coat “It’s just the flu, bro” Gilligans.

With widespread drive-through testing happening in SoCal, the current rate of positives is 10% (bearing in mind most of the people going for testing are either symptomatic, or have been exposed to those who are), so even that 10% is a function of sick/exposed people, and driven higher accordingly. AND that’s within the mosr highly populated megapolis in the country, running nearly 200 miles from Ventura to the Mexican Border and inland halfway to Las Vegas and the Colorado River, and comprising more than 10% of the population of the entire USA in one giant suburban sprawl. IOW, the numbers and percentage of people exposed for any 20-30 STATES will be dramatically lower than 10% exposure.

So our current 140K dead? This could easily go to 10-20X that toll, depending on how widespread it gets, whether infection confers immunity (L.A. has already documented people on their second infection), and if – if EVER – any effective vaccine is developed.

All exponential growth insures is that deaths will increase over time, so that with the current blossom, in 14-28 days, we should be climbing right back to the hellish period of 2K deaths/day, unless time, mutation, and viral load starts mitigating the virulence ans severity of this bug.

So cheer up: we’re going to be playing COVID games all year, and maybe far longer.
These may BE “the good old days”.

Keep stocking water, food, ammo, and money.

Next day (today) Aesop quoted this…
There ain’t nothin’ to be cheerful about, unless you’ re where the Kung Flu isn’t.
And even if a merciful Deity or blind chance in a random universe hasn’t got COVID kicking your @$$ personally, the fact that it’s beating the big cities like a rented mule is going to have consequences for you too, unless you’re totally self-sufficient, grow everything you eat, and wipe your bottom with tree bark.

The other 99.9% of you should fasten your seatbelts tighter: it’s going to be a bumpy rest of the YEAR. Perhaps longer.

I say , that mostly I can only 100% rely on local first person sources that I know to be accurate. They are telling me that we’re in deep caca… I’m taking their advise and my money out of the bank. Turning that cash into more supplies.

If one only listens to preferred sites that you agree with…one cannot ever learn new info.
Yesterday , I listened to Limbaugh go on and on about one guy getting killed on a motorcycle here in Fladuh, yet it was being reported as COVID related…one freaking person ! There were 899 others also !
Also , listening to Russ on the Monsters radio show yesterday , some caller in Orlando stating that it was all fake…Russ went ballistic , his wife is a paramedic in that city and they’ve had five friends die from that so called fake disease.
He went on to say, that even tho his paramedic friends wear personal protection. The person they are handling , often isn’t wearing a mask. Once again , a mask only helps protect the other guy…helps only…

I’d much rather be a helper to society than a certain possible hindrance.
PPE sucks and is uncomfortable and a hassle , but so is paying my other insurance bills each month…
At least the COVID thing might one day go away…yeah right . Like STDs go away if people don’t break the rules hmm ?

    • Deep caca. Yes.
      Viral pandemic. No.
      Source diversity. Yes.
      Mainstream sources. NO.

Helper of society? Seriously? ‘We’re all in this together’ is the biggest pile of Jack delivered into the dialogue. You say avoid crowds but live in an overpopulated aging state, then apply that bias across the board. Here, where the population is so thin everyone knows someone who knows someone else, (and yes. Cinversations like that happen) yet ask any stranger if they know of someone that caught the bug, and they struggle for a name. But ask them if they know someone that lost a job to the shutdowns: then you’ll get a list.
I never said the bug was not real, but I have said, am saying and will continue to say the reality was far far below the hyperbole they used to stampede the herd into panic.
