Things ‘just happen’.

New project(s).

Near as I can tell, its all there.  The trailer bed has seen better days, as it wouldn’t provide shade for a fly right now. But that is readily cured with some 12ga sheet.  The brake handle is beat up, but the brake cables move freely and the brakes seem to hold.  Won’t know for certain without some teardown.  One tire is in excellent condition,  the other is pretty dry rotted.  But these tires are still available, amazingly.
As for the welder,,, it seems locked up, but the oil in the pan isn’t fouled.  Dirty, but smells clean without any watersigns. The coolant is very clean; almost new smelling.  
I think: mind you, without really digging in, I don’t know for sure; that some moisture managed to get in the cylinders and the rings are frozen.  I’m going to pull the plugs and get some penetrating oil in there and see what, if anything, frees up after sitting a week.
FYI: it looks like an old Ford flathead, but has Lincoln tags all over it, so actually finding parts may be ‘interesting ‘.  Anywhoos,  I won’t know a damned thing else until I can get the ‘suck squish bang blow’ things happening.  This may be its last stop before the final trip to the scrap yards, but, I am gonna try what I can, first.  The trailer alone was worth the trip to pick it up.
Oh yeah, as for the ‘just happened ‘, this is the same unit that was in question about this time last year.  The super of the location told me, today, “just come and get it, its yours if you want it”.  Maybe “just” isn’t the proper term, but I certainly wasn’t expecting it.
But I hesitated only long enough to hit a breaking point at work and headed straight there.  I wasn’t about to let him change his mind🙄

Funny though,  with all the other stuff going on and whats bouncing around my cranium, this is not a distraction.  This is one of those projects that will get accomplished (or not, if its trashed) in baby steps over weeks/months.
