Memorial day
To those that personally know someone who gave all, I salute you. To those that DID GIve all, I stand in silence for you.
My biggest gripe about this holiday is NOT the holiday itself, but the way the majority approach it. This should be a day of solemnity, recognizing those that stood on that line and said “here and no farther,,,”. So so many of those, taken before they were truly adult enough to understand the depth of the sacrifice.
Yes, there should be some celebration of life for them, but most people only see it as ‘Another long weekend with BBQ and Beers’. The point has been blunted to indifference.
So, In Honor of those that stood on that line, I will absolve from posting distraction in thier memory.
